Hope everyone has a nice day.

Been going this way for awhile, glad I own a Vette.
I don't understand Richard, is this the only post for your Saturday my Sunday, I have just turned the puter on after getting in from church as due to splitting our congregation into two groups due to size, we have an afternoon meeting this year so I'm slow to turn it on and check out the site. Hope that everybody else is either busy with family stuff, church or such like considering the different time zones. But, both you and Ken have excellent days too.
Not sure why you assume "we" have run "everybody" off?
It's the same story at every Forum I belong to. Much like swap meets and the big car shows.. we've become dinosaurs and it looks like we headed in the same direction.
Seems to me we have newbies continually checking in, asking for and receiving good advice.
I guess you're feeling a bit blue today.
this cowboy dont run . :) one problem is we're all getting long in the tooth and dont have much going on. i'm finally rounding the corner on the 56 and the shop truck. doing the interior on the truck and fighting the rear disc on the 56 . soon to start a new project. 56 chevy big window. also will start on my falcon gasser . swore i would not pull it from the shed until the shop was empty .
Well first I don't know a damn thing to help anybody  Second if you google a question you will find a answer 99.9 % of the time :) Third I don't like anybody ! Hell I don't even like myself :whacked: Pete
i know the feeling, i shave with a 1911 in one hand so i dont cut my own throat .
I waxed half of the 53 last night, I don't have anything noteworthy going on right now.
Seems I remember a similar post around this time every year, maybe not from the same person, but a similar post just the same.
Truth be told, during the summer months, most people are out doing things with the cars, their family, and their friends. Not spending it in front of the computer. Myself included as we travel during our rare time off together, dealing with family health issues, weddings, gatherings out of the state, etc. A truly wonderful cycle in the game of life........Yup, happens every year, one way or the other.

I was at the Mississippi NSRA appreciation day yesterday. It was a 3 hour drive and I had a front tire suffer a cord separation somewhere along the way. I noticed it when I slowed to make a turn. Luckily I carry a spare in the 46, so not really a big deal. Spare was pretty old, so I took it easy on the return trip. Otherwise, not much going on except I got to visit with some old friends.
Since I have found a solution to the Photobucket issue, I might be able to update the build thread tonight. Headed out to to shop to work on the Healey right now.
july/aug is kaka around here. work from cansee to noon. then i'm in the build room sewing or hanging pieces. got a/c in there . :) if not i'm in the pool .
I check in here at least once a day and pass out a few "likes" or maybe a comment with emoticons.:LOL: I have to admit when posting progress on my own projects, which you all know is very very slow :whacked::CRY:, I do get frustrated by the pic adding process. My phone takes pics that are usually over 5MB, which is over the limit for just one pic here. Photobucket is now screwing everyone with new fees so I need to discover a fast easy method for downsizing pics for forum posting. Would be nice if there was a built in "re-sizer" on the site but I'm not a tech guru...
Anyway, through the ebb & flow of life, I've got 10yrs in here and probably won't be leaving anytime soon unless they shut it down....:3dSMILE:
Hey Tech, Been awhile since I have noticed posting by you. Glad to see you are still out there even if complaining.
I couldn't make that blanket statement about ALL 4drs....I think some 4drs are cool...like 4dr Lincoln convertibles with suicide rear doors, 4dr hardtops (no post) from the 60s, 4dr crew cabs trucks from the 60's...just to name a few...but must agree that many of the 4drs just don't work as hotrods but at least they're joining in and I applaud their effort...:3dSMILE::3dSMILE:
i use irfanview to resize pics. you can also setup your computer to resize all photos . i've never put my pics on a host site.
Free Image Optimizer - Compress and resize photos
download for free, works great.
No, I'm not coming back! I check in frequently, but rarely see anything of interest.

Thanks Ken, I sort wondered that having an eagling to Shine's Texan humour and that he is an old cowboy from way back.

check the pic on your phone, pick email from list, send it to your self, it will have size option when you click send.
now you have resized for posting. I have I phone, but I'm sure most have this option.

Had an awesome outdoor community church service this morning for our towns 125 Anniversary. Some were dressed up period correct for the time and had a great turn out and lots of fellowship and community praise this morning. Taking church outside the walls is one of my favorite things.
Its all about pics-----------------
Hi Guys and Gals. Like many here I mostly just view and "Like" now and then, still pretty busy getting things done since the move.:o So much for "Turn Key", there is no such thing:rolleyes:. I have managed to do a few things on the 34 though and I bought a two post lift. will have a few pics later after I figure out to download from my phone to the computer as my computer won't accept card adapter from my camera anymore. I am still here and hope to be posting more later.:):)

Similar here.
I sold the 69 nomad and 74 Vega and bought a near cherry 90 Silverado. Then I sold the 73 charger just so I would stop spending money on it.
So about the only posts I've made lately is on the 90 P60 van which I'm hoping to one day sell for enough to break even.
LessonsI've learned:
if you intend to sell your project in the future, do some research. I had no idea the market value on a 73 charger was so low. Had it been a 69... Only a few years difference can be huge.
One project at a time. If I had put all the cash from those three into one, I'd have had a showstopper.
It's easier to make money doing small projects on OTHER peoples' cars.
You know, I had some joker tell me the charger's high value was 5K, even knowing there was 10K in just the engine. That's akin to saying a set of glasses at a yardsale is only worth $1, when each glass has a C note in it. Nope, better to just work on other peoples' stuff, and let THEM deal with the market value.
Well, seems to me there is a song that says something to the effect that "---- I'll hang around as long as you will let me, ----"; that's me. I sold my last vehicle five years ago, now, and am so broken that I am not much use any more, but I'm still hangin' around, just not much to say most of the time. But, I still love you guys.
.
I still have & work on my Car every weekend, it just takes time (my greatest work equals some of you guys' lowest grade work, so I've gotta work/try harder )-
I'm finally starting to head down the back straight, and hope to finish later this Year or early next (at the latest-I hope-!)-all of the mechanical, electrical, exhaust and other such stuff is finished-I know I'm doing it backa**wards, but it's coming down to Body Work, Glass and Upholstery-
Have I mentioned just how much I hate Body work? I really thought I had the Body laser straight until I started doing final Body Work-either I've gotten better at it, or some drunk guy worked on my Car-it's just soooo time consuming that it seems to take forever (!), hence why I hate it-I want to get something done-
I hope to Paint in early September or so (before it gets cold), then I'll call the Glass guy-I suspect it'll be in Upholstery Jail for 2-3 agonizing Months (hopefully less-ha!)
I'm really happy how things are turning out so far, and I think I've pretty much bought most all of the parts to finish (of course, except Upholstery), it just comes down to time-by the way-have I mentioned how much I hate Body Work?
well I'm a noob, and I am getting back into building and working on cars after a 12 year break while I worked on the house.. house is done (for now) so it's time for me to work on a project for myself.
like everything hot rodding has it's ebbs and flows. I didn't get into this expecting to fix up and resale a car for profit, I want the car for me and hopefully I can impress upon my daughter an interest in classic cars and building something for yourself, and maybe keep the love of classic cars and hot rods alive through her generation and into the next. She's been around it her whole life and she loves sports cars and muscle cars, hopefully she retains that into adulthood.

I use Photobucket, better explained here:

tech has to hang around until i do my falcon gasser . what i am putting together for the motor will drive him crazy . :) just about finished with the 56 and the truck . hope to start on the falcon come fall .
The photobucket thing may not work unless you want to pay $400/yr for 3rd party hosting. They made a change 2-3 weeks ago changing their rates. Maybe they saw the light and changed their ways but last I knew only you would be able to see your pics hosted by them until you upgrade your account.
yeah, big mistake on photobuckets part, no one is going to pay $40 a month for their crappy service. I am grandfathered in as I had an ADFree account $10 a year, so until 12-31-2018 I can hot link, after that I will be arsed out as well.
I'm dumping all my images off their site, and moving them to Smughug Imgur, or imageshack. Photobucket just wrote their own death certificate.. they will be done within 2 years is my prediction, their free hosting was paid for with advertising, with millions of people not able to view those hot linked images on millions of forums the advertising money will dry up pretty quick.
Regarding third party hosting, it's really not needed to post on CHR, but does provide a more convenient way to post a large number of images on one post, like posting 200+ images from a car show. Where the third party host shines is if you ever take pictures of events, like a retirement gathering, baby shower, or holiday gathering and want to share a large number of images with a bunch of folks. The third party host can't be beat for convenience. I'm using SmugMug now, and my images on PhotoBucket are held hostage, but who cares....
