Hi Guys and Gals. Like many here I mostly just view and "Like" now and then, still pretty busy getting things done since the move.So much for "Turn Key", there is no such thing
. I have managed to do a few things on the 34 though and I bought a two post lift. will have a few pics later after I figure out to download from my phone to the computer as my computer won't accept card adapter from my camera anymore.
I am still here and hope to be posting more later.

Similar here.
I sold the 69 nomad and 74 Vega and bought a near cherry 90 Silverado. Then I sold the 73 charger just so I would stop spending money on it.
So about the only posts I've made lately is on the 90 P60 van which I'm hoping to one day sell for enough to break even.
LessonsI've learned:
if you intend to sell your project in the future, do some research. I had no idea the market value on a 73 charger was so low. Had it been a 69... Only a few years difference can be huge.
One project at a time. If I had put all the cash from those three into one, I'd have had a showstopper.
It's easier to make money doing small projects on OTHER peoples' cars.
You know, I had some joker tell me the charger's high value was 5K, even knowing there was 10K in just the engine. That's akin to saying a set of glasses at a yardsale is only worth $1, when each glass has a C note in it. Nope, better to just work on other peoples' stuff, and let THEM deal with the market value..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

Well, seems to me there is a song that says something to the effect that "---- I'll hang around as long as you will let me, ----"; that's me. I sold my last vehicle five years ago, now, and am so broken that I am not much use any more, but I'm still hangin' around, just not much to say most of the time. But, I still love you guys.

I still have & work on my Car every weekend, it just takes time (my greatest work equals some of you guys' lowest grade work, so I've gotta work/try harder)-
I'm finally starting to head down the back straight, and hope to finish later this Year or early next (at the latest-I hope-!)-all of the mechanical, electrical, exhaust and other such stuff is finished-I know I'm doing it backa**wards, but it's coming down to Body Work, Glass and Upholstery-
Have I mentioned just how much I hate Body work? I really thought I had the Body laser straight until I started doing final Body Work-either I've gotten better at it, or some drunk guy worked on my Car-it's just soooo time consuming that it seems to take forever (!), hence why I hate it-I want to get something done-
I hope to Paint in early September or so (before it gets cold), then I'll call the Glass guy-I suspect it'll be in Upholstery Jail for 2-3 agonizing Months (hopefully less-ha!)
I'm really happy how things are turning out so far, and I think I've pretty much bought most all of the parts to finish (of course, except Upholstery), it just comes down to time-by the way-have I mentioned how much I hate Body Work?Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?

well I'm a noob, and I am getting back into building and working on cars after a 12 year break while I worked on the house.. house is done (for now) so it's time for me to work on a project for myself.
like everything hot rodding has it's ebbs and flows. I didn't get into this expecting to fix up and resale a car for profit, I want the car for me and hopefully I can impress upon my daughter an interest in classic cars and building something for yourself, and maybe keep the love of classic cars and hot rods alive through her generation and into the next. She's been around it her whole life and she loves sports cars and muscle cars, hopefully she retains that into adulthood.

The photobucket thing may not work unless you want to pay $400/yr for 3rd party hosting. They made a change 2-3 weeks ago changing their rates. Maybe they saw the light and changed their ways but last I knew only you would be able to see your pics hosted by them until you upgrade your account.Ryan

yeah, big mistake on photobuckets part, no one is going to pay $40 a month for their crappy service. I am grandfathered in as I had an ADFree account $10 a year, so until 12-31-2018 I can hot link, after that I will be arsed out as well.
I'm dumping all my images off their site, and moving them to Smughug Imgur, or imageshack. Photobucket just wrote their own death certificate.. they will be done within 2 years is my prediction, their free hosting was paid for with advertising, with millions of people not able to view those hot linked images on millions of forums the advertising money will dry up pretty quick.

well i dont own a gun so i cant join the gun conversation but i also no longer own a 69 HOSS429 mustang nor a 73 pinto nor a 78 ford truck nor anything associated with building any vehicles in the future .. i do have a nice large completely empty garage .. i have been quit drinking for a few months now and feel great but the alcohol was the driving force behind the need for loud and fast things .. i have lost all interest in hot rodding . my eyesight has failed so much in the past year that driving has become difficult anyway much less driving impaired .. although my stang always managed to find its way back home no matter how drunk i got in it ..i have not been driven away .. i just have nothing to add anymore ...iv`e used up all my sick days at work .. can i call in dead ?

Regarding third party hosting, it's really not needed to post on CHR, but does provide a more convenient way to post a large number of images on one post, like posting 200+ images from a car show. Where the third party host shines is if you ever take pictures of events, like a retirement gathering, baby shower, or holiday gathering and want to share a large number of images with a bunch of folks. The third party host can't be beat for convenience. I'm using SmugMug now, and my images on PhotoBucket are held hostage, but who cares....Roger

well you can download them off of photobucket, but you will never be able to hotlink them.
if you do a download dump you get a big zip file with all the images sorted by folder named after the libraries you have on PB. after that you can do a mass delete on PB and close your account.
