Not to hijack Ken's thread, but the roofer/estimator that came to look at my roof shared that he'd been called out to a home that they'd just re-roofed a few months before. The lady of the house had similar pictures of the hail in her yard, and was dismayed that her brand new roof was going to be beyond repair, but they saw zero evidence of hail impact anywhere on the house. It seems that the hail stones were huge slush balls, and had just hit with a SPLAT.
It all depends on how cold it is up high, and how hard the hail stones freeze as they are bouncing around upstairs, plus the wind velocity as they're being delivered.
I imagine there was quite a scramble at the fairgrounds, headed over to the covered horse barn, as well as over to get under the big oak trees to the east

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

It would be nice if this up and down crap would cease.
