Thanks for the pics. A little pricey on the dual quad set up. I bought a similar set, maybe not as shiny and complete, when I left California in 72 for $125.
Unless you were restoring to original $3500, IMHO, is awful pricey even if the valve covers are part of the deal. And I don't see the part tags on the carb's which if I remember correctly were mounted on the top left front corner of the air horn and would devalue them considerably to a purist. The valve covers appear to have staggered holes which means they'll only fit 55 through 57 heads, maybe 58, and I've seen them go for cheap at the swap meet here in Springfield recently and I've also seen clowns asking upwards of $150 a set and I just smile and walk away.
If I ever decided to run dual quads again I have an Offy manifold out in the garage and with a set of Holley's for less than a grand I'd be considerably ahead of that setup and since this isn't the "Hamb" period correct is out the window.
As far as I'm concerned $1800 would be top dollar for that setup including the orange box they're sitting on.
'52 Chevy. '68 GTO. '55 Chevy. '56 Olds. Sigh . . . did you HAVE to put photos all of my early hot rods in one post?
Seriously, thanks for the photos and the trip down memory lane. I wish I had gone. It's only a couple of hours from me.
