Still thinkin' about you, Mike, hoping for the best outcome. When I had my carpal tunnel surgery, the Doc recommended typing as the best therapy if I could tolerate it, and it worked very well; I know your case is not carpal tunnel, and that may not be best in your case, but it certainly helped me.

The surgery appears to have gone well, the feeling has come back to my ring finger and is starting to come back in my little finger. I'm in a sling until tomorrow and the bandages come off on Sunday. I couldn't take sitting in the house any longer so I wandered out to the shop for a while ( I can't do anything physical right now but I'm figuring out how I want to do some of the stuff like building the battery box and choke cable bracket.)

Thanks everybody for the good wishes. It will still be a bit before I post much...... typing with my left hand with the pain meds in my system is not a lot of fun.

The grandkids are doing good.......although Cade seems to have made himself a bit scarce around here since I put him to work with the weed eater the last couple of times he was over.

I had a follow up appointment yesterday. It’s not real pretty but they seem to think it’s healing well (and my hand feels a whole bunch better).

From time to time the itching drives me nuts but Tylenol seems to be able keep it bearable. I really want to get the transmission cooler lines and emergency brakes done on the 37 (so I can finally hear the engine actually run in the truck), but I don’t think it’s quite healed enough for me to be working from a creeper yet.

Oh well at least it’s healed enough I can drive the little Ram 50 again (manual transmission and steering).

That's good to hear, Mike, I hope it continues to do well. Nice "trophy" you got there.

Just another quick update. The arm/hand is doing better I'll probably try to get under the truck and start running the plumbing next week.

I got a call from the VA the day before yesterday......they wanted to set up an appointment .....for a PreOp test for my arm surgery .

Yeah, I was a little confused...... as near as I can tell when they scheduled the surgery thru VA they never let the Choice program know. So they (Choice) was still trying to schedule me for a civilian Dr.

All I can do at this point is just shake my head and chuckle

Great news on the hand & arm recovery, Mike. Hopefully getting some OJPT (on the job physical therapy) will bring it back even more!

There's been some head shaking & chuckling here lately, too. We had a change from group insurance to Medicare & Medigap Secondary in the middle of a process, and some of the things people say when you try to point out why their claims for payment are being denied are amazing - like, "Well why would you do that?"

Well, Missy, it's called a Birthday....

Hope you continue to get better & better, day by day!

I'm glad to hear that you are thinking about getting back at it, that means you must be feeling ok.

I'm with you on the head shaking and chuckling, although I'd probably rather do some bellowing and choking. We have been dealing with the IRS and SSA/Medicare over an identity theft/fraud incident since 2013, and sometimes it is absolutely unbelievable; spent three hours yesterday with our attorney, and did get some things sorted out on our end. Now we must wait on the "guvmint minions" to get their stuff together, again.

Here's hoping your arm continues to improve.

"..........I'm with you on the head shaking and chuckling, although I'd probably rather do some bellowing and choking......."

I'm with you on the second option, unfortunately I've found dealing with the government bureaucracies using that approach is pretty much akin to wrestling with a pig.....you get dirty but the pig likes it

Mike, I keep thinking of you going back to the Doc for a checkup, and the Doc saying, "So how's the arm, Mike. How're you doing? Any problems?", and you responding, "Well Doc, I've gotta say that I'm still having some trouble on the piano." Doc then says, "Well, the piano takes a lot of dexterity, but if you have patience I'm sure that you'll be tickling the ivories again soon." Mike then says, "Well that's just great, because I've always wanted to play the piano, but I could never make sense out of all of those black & white keys, or how to read music."
