    Christmas Goodies

Actually a Birthday gift, one of my boys got me a nifty little USB Endoscope Camera that attaches to a laptop, or with a USB to Mini USB adapter to a Smart Phone to it into a viewing screen for the boroscope camera. The camera unit is nominal 1/4" x 1.5", attached to a 15' cable. There's a nifty little adjustment wheel to control a set of LED's that surround the lens for those dark places you want to view, like inside a combustion chamber, or...... There's also a hook attachment, and a magnet attachment to retrieve things from those dark, dank places one cannot otherwise reach.

The camera is waterproof, so I suppose that with a 15' cable one could perhaps attempt a colonoscopy, but the instructions do mention that it's not intended for medical use, and there is no directional control.

Haven't put it to use yet, other than to see that it works and I can attest that it does a fine job of looking into Bones' ear.

So what kind of goodies did ya' get??

well Roger as you know I got 5 days w/my son's family & that was gift w/in itself. The grandson wanted to buy gifts for everybody so his mom took him to the Dollar Store. He got me a mascot to carry in the Yukon to protect his Grandpa. It was a 8" long rubber Alligator or maybe it's a Crocodile . So I'm ready for anything w/a man eating protector guarding me from all things evil...

Now that amplifies that it's the thought that counts, and on top of that it's one cool body guard!

Yeah, that's the way it is for us too, Mike. A few years back we abandoned the practice of gifts between the adults, because even with the kids we all pretty much get the things we want/need during the year so we just do Christmas for the kids. I posted the little camera to let people know that they're out there now, and by using your phone/laptop for the screen they are really inexpensive, like about $20 with a free APP on the phone.

Roger, Great gift, however I work in a hospital and know what a endoscope is used for there! And it isn't car related! We always laugh and say you know what the difference is between the one that goes in the throat and the one that is used for a colonoscopy is (as they look the same) its the taste!

You got that right. My doctor said, "Up periscope!" and I'm pretty sure there was something the size of a submarine involved in the process!!

Heck yeah it counts! I did that too, asking my wife if she wanted to give me the LignoMat Moisture Meter that I'd ordered, as a birthday present. You did better with the sweet Sata gun!!

I figure most of my gifts were given this year, so I needed a little something for myself. I enjoy the giving more than the getting anyway, so like most of you I tend to get what I need during the year.
