T Shirt Trade Idea

As many in this hobby know, we covet our "hot rod" & "car show" t shirts, I am on a cruise night committee and nothing goes over better than t shirts, I have a "nice assortment".
My idea is to check and see if anybody (or bodys) would like too, or just kick around the idea of offering up new shirts picked up from different shows/cruises they go to for trade with others, I mean who wouldn't love to have a car show shirt from New Zealand or England?? That is if they do t shirts across the pond? After wearing one tonight I picked up from Lake of the Ozarks with the Milner coupe on it, I thought it would be cool to see one head 1/2 way around the world (though its old now!) or one of our new local cruise shirts. What do you guys think?? Let me know....

i offer free shipping on my shirts but never thought about one going across borders . first one sold went to canada so i had to change it to free shipping to the lower 48 . one to new zealand would have broke me .
i have a closet full but my bride wont let me wear them , i tend to really beat up tshirts .

Shine,,is it that dear to post a shirt out of Texas?? Wow.. I did a swap with toomanytocount,a few years back..Can't remember what it cost to send the parcel up there.. Ask Joe what it cost to send his down to me.. Didn't think it would be too bad..

if it fits it ships i use the post office priority mail. 6.00 for a shirt . seems it was more to canada . been a while .

I picked up an Atlas of the US (maps of all states) that measured about 9x12 and 1/2" thick. I got it wrapped and addressed to johnboy, stopped by the UPS store to see how much to send it via their standard air/ground delivery and it was something around US$90! I told them I didn't want to send it on a private charter, just putting it in with the rest of the stuff going that way was OK but she didn't see the humor... So I went to the US Post Office, and they first told me US$26, but then when they actually got to it dropped it to US$20 as I recall. A flat rate envelope that a T-shirt would fit is US$46, with no weight limits. Sending it by dimension and weight would be a bit cheaper, but likely more than the value of the shirt....

In the USA, isn't it cheaper to put it in a manila envelope or one of those white tear-proof envelopes? I don't think they cost $6 to ship. We just shipped a bunch of t-shirts to the US, I will ask what it cost. I do remember that to Canada was considerably more.....l

Yeah, for light stuff like a shirt, stuffing it in an envelope is cheaper than flat rate, but mailing stuff to NZ carries a nice premium. Just a regular envelope with a letter is something near $2 if not more. Same for over there - when we were coming back a friend sent a half dozen magazines and pre-addressed envelopes for us to mail to people in the US, as it was about 3X higher sending them international.

Our biggest claim to fame is Missouris largest square (4th largest in the US) which is the back drop, each year they pic local cars for the shirt, mine is in the background this year with some muscle in front and a classic to the side. Sponsors on back

Kool shirt,Matt.. Very nice.. I'm thinking,that with those prices for mailing something like that,,it's better to find somebody I know,who is up there,,to bring it back..Might be able to organise that,too.. ALWAYS a few Kiwis we know,who are coming and going from the US..

yeah,matey,,it'll only take a day or two,to take a small detour.. I could probably supply an address in Ca.,,so a friend could bring the shirt back for me.. might work out a bit slower,,but not so dear.. Will see what I can do..
