    2015 trailer trash/treasure

We have an annual vintage trailer show at our local KOA here in Petaluma. Seemed to be the perfect distraction for a saturday off from work!
Here are some shots. I particularly liked the vintage canvas coated trailer from Michigan that is supposedly only one of two in existance. The guy who is restorintg it, was also the owner of a sleeper wagon hotrod that towed it with a vette engine under the hood!

Don't know if you can read the white info board but if you click on it you should be able to blow it up.

The stuffed Felix is a nice touch.

Thanks for posting Steve. Vintage caravans or Trailers as you guys call them have taken off here in NZ too and it is amazing how much detail some folks put into the whole look of them. I had to give my 1970's Classic caravan to my wife in the separation agreement even though she didn't drive at that stage let alone own a car to tow it. I actually kept it here in Auckland until it sold then send her the funds. We enjoyed our van and use to set it up at a quiet beach motorcamp for the summer period and go up to it every second weekend for two nights. Thanks again for posting and bringing some neat memories back for me.

I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

We ran a caravan hire business for several years, although our market was not for the 'tour' industry but the 'spare-room-for-granny/on-site-office' market.
Our deliberate target market were the lower socio-economic groups.
We were buying the type/style of caravans you showed above because they were cheap; no-one else wanted them.
Never paid more than $2000 for any individual van. (Then rented them out for $35 - $40 per week...you do the maths...people are stupid.)
Those same caravans are now back in vogue, commanding figures around the $10,000 mark.
Yep, people are stupid...just wish I'd hung on to eight or ten of them!

    Thanks for posting those Steve.

Yeah they are definately making a comeback. Always wanted to restore a small one to tow behind the truck some day. Best time to by them is the winter when it's raining! Prices tend to drop then.
