    Rusty Road Trip

Yesterday I rode with my oldest son and a long time Classic Car Restorer Dude up to Bedias to look at some possible bodies for his son's first car since the '65 Stang has turned into a rusty mistake.

He was primarily looking at the 67 2dr Ford hardtop which I thought had way too much that it needed. The Restorer seemed to think it was a good one to go to. We will see what he decides so I'm keeping quite from now on. I also thought I had a pic of the front of that '67 but obviously my lookers weren't look'n too good.

Anyhow, I thought Y'all might enjoy looking at a "few" of the Cars I got pics of. It was so freaking hot that I couldn't stay out there in the sunshine and weeds any longer so I sat in the truck with the AC running while they finished looking and talking.

Some good stuff there Em. That '67 Fairlane they're contemplatin' might be a real prize if the back window opening isn't all eat up with rust like so many are. If it's a GT(A) 390 car all the better.

Lots o' orphans; Hudson, DeSoto, Steadybreaker, Pontiac and Oldsmobile (sounds weird to say). While the '40 Olds coupe would be cool, I'd be all over that '56 88..........two tone black and red..............put a little stance on that thing and it would be one stylin' ride!

It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.

I was just thinking that the Ranchero looks as solid, or more so, than the Fairlane. Whatever floats his boat, though I agree with Uncle Bob that the Fairlane is a keeper and a GT(A) would make it even better.

I agree, there's lots o great potential in those pics!!! If you want a little inspiration on the '67 Fairlane, here's a few pics of a GTA390 I saw at the Culver City Car show a couple of years ago....

We've mentioned Rancheros to him and his son went Ewwwwwww - - nuff said. Thanks for the info Unka Bob. I do know that it has a 302 with auto tranny. They fired it up after some priming and it didn't smoke, the oil was clean and the lifters wre quieter than my 289. I'll pass this along to David and thanks again. How do you tell if it's a GT(A)?

    Em

P.S. that 88 caught my eye right off the bat and you are soooooooo correct - - - looked more pink than red to me however but we know how my vision is so we won't go there. LOL

There were some definate keepers in that bunch! I think I could have wondered around for a few hours there! Either a gold mine or an Iron mine, depending on the decay! Thanks for sharing

Yea thanks for thepictures. We use to have several places around here. But the last one I know of went last year. When the man died and the sons auctioned off everything in one day.the was a traffic jam on that road that day out in the country with everyone wanting an old car. Jonathan
