I recall specifically visiting the local Ford dealership in Corpus Christi, TX, looking at Torino Fastbacks in 1971, where the rear glass was at about 20 degrees up from dead flat? His lot was just off of Ocean Drive on the bay front, maybe 100yds from the gulf waters, and those brand new cars were getting surface rust around the bottom corners where the chrome trim met the sail panels in less than a month on the lot!! Even at that young age I looked at that and quietly walked away......

But the Datsun 240Z's were worse by far! I think they were using recycled beer cans left behind by the GI's for their body panels, and they knew NOTHING about cold weather climates, and chemicals on roads to melt snow/ice. It was a nasty time for the Japanese manufacturers.....
