I really don't understand the animosity with/against Al Anabi.. rich guy wants to spend monies in motorsports, runs a bunch of teams and then gets bored with it all. So what???

I can't say I have to blame him (or others like him) for sad times in motorsports. I believe it's just a natural evolution, even in all forms of sports! Drag racing specifically evolved from a bunch of kids who wanted to organize into something bigger and better than where they started, and the evolution includes running so fast that it takes huge teams with hundreds of employees and bucket loads of money and even larger budgets for all the different latest techno gadgets to keep searching for a way to go just a hundredth of a second faster.

Sounds just like formula 1 don't it!!!???!!

It had to happen, Garlits called it years ago as well. Even NASCAR tries to create a formula that breeds drama and passion yet keeps the cars at a safe speed for drivers and spectators.

But, at hand is the question of a owner pulling out and some folks are happy about it. I guess I have to say that a lot of folks have pulled out yet we never hear much (or anything) about it, but the rich oilman leaves and the net goes buzzing.. whatever! We'll see what happens next - a new formula is being stirred as we speak, maybe it'll benefit the grass roots effort? That would be nice, but the grass roots can't cover all the bills. I wonder what else will be in the formula?
