Thanks for your honesty and the reply Brent. Having been in your shoes at one time I understand exactly where you are at and now it all makes since. The up side is it is fixable and now everyone knows if there is an issue it's not due to you not caring. And once fixed it's fixed for the most part for ever never to be dealt with again. Kinda
I found that I could go in the back room and tinker with basic code and flip switches as long as I copied down what I was doing and exactly where it was being changed at. I could always reverse it if I didn't get the results I was after. I know that with my forum which is run by simple machines smf that their web site is a great help. I can go on their forum and post up my issue I'm having with the forum and much like this forum there are folks that will walk you through any issues you ask about. I can sure understand being gun shy but now that we know your behind the scenes mutt-ling around we have your back...
I'm sure there are folks here that know V Bulletin that can help you out in the back room.
Another suggestion is to make a heading or a topic on the bottom of the form directory page. Make it a "CHR help page" or something like that. That way if someone is having an issue on the forum there is a place to post it and it can be easily found by you. I did this and at first I was finding notes about things I had no clue that they weren't working. I never get notifications on that thread any more. Also folks can go to that page and see if their issue has already been posted. If so they may add some little tid bit of info that might help you pinpoint the problem. Once that is done take all the threads like this one and bury them there so they are no longer a distraction to the forum. Thanks again Brent, sorry for coming down so hard on you but through it you've shown yourself to be a stand up guy! It's appreciated and respected... Thanks.
Feel free to contact me if I can help you in any way. Bob EngelBob, Bob, & Bob

Robin, it's likely not the issue for you but I sometimes forget that one cannot see/add "smilies" except in the "Go Advanced" mode, when starting a thread from scratch or when editing a post; and that the "Like" button is not visible on one's own posts, which keeps one from "liking" their own posts. The little "Like" action box is always there, lower right just above the line separating the post from the signature area, except on your own posts.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

It doesn't appear that you have user groups set up. If you go to the permissions and allow everyone to access the home page I'm betting it will get rid of that glitch that says you dint have access to the home page... that we have to go through to get to the forums?Last edited by M.T.; 07-24-2014 at 10:43 AM.

I am not sure who to address this question, MrMustang or Brent, but for what it is worth the thread that 34-40 set up for me "For Don Shilady" is now totally devoid of any pictures. I don't use smiles or those other little add-on features, but I did like the pictures Jerry Clayton posted on early Indy cars and I had several of my own pictures showing a short version of my seven year build up of a Bebops Model roadster (replica) and now they are all gone. 34-40 alerted me to this problem and asked me to check the situation and now I have looked through the whole thread and found zero pictures. I am sporadic in contributing to this Forum but credit it with a lot of help in building my roadster. I did not see this problem until recently and am presently working very hard with a summer job which will soon be over but sometimes I do not have time for the Forum and then later need to ask the "experts" questions. Is the problem a lack of disc space or it is my system? I am running Windows-8 with Norton Virus protection but it seems to me the problem is in the Forum software. In particular I like to look at modified Model A Fords for details in the pictures as ideas for my roadster. Can this be forwarded to Brent?

For What it is worth there must have been some changes/editing to "For Don Shilady" because now the blue boxes are gone.
A policy statement is needed here. I'll leave it to Jerry Clayton to justify photos of Indy cars but I did want to include my pictures of the top on my roadster. Other comments by Jerry have been very helpful to me so whatever he wants to put on that thread are OK by me as well as information from 34-40.
