I believe that Steve was one of the all time best drivers in that period of time----front engine dragsters---from smoking the tires to slipper clutches--------wish he could of stayed with us longer---both as a driver for us and also to still be around with those of us getting older-----------
He drove for us for a short period of time between his Soapy Sales days and completeing his own car, with which he beat Garlits at Indy in the burn down---------His going from the 392 to an Ed Pink late model started a lot of activity----Pink gained on the Black/Pink competition , and it pissed Donovan of enough that he went ahead on his 417 project------------
Any w2ay if your looking down here this morning Steve---thanks for bringing Rick to us-------even with his long hair!!!!!!!!!!

Jerry i see that you said something about the Soapy Sales car here, what did you have to do with it if anything??? My buddy in So. Calif. just repainted it last year just before Hot Rod Reunion..
You don't know what it is to love a car until you build one.
