We got ice...In the freezer... ,,but I have been reading little bits n pieces about poor folk in various parts of the US,who have more than they need.. And a few, like a dude by name of John Hall, who has a 150 year old Maple, leaning on his house..Could be worse,,could have been leaning on the shed with the 34/3w and his 59 F100 as well... ,,but I have been reading little bits n pieces about poor folk in various parts of the US,who have more than they need.. And I feel for the returned service people who are discarded as broken people to fend for themselves. So I hope all the homeless, low income, elderly folk a warm place to enjoy a Christmas meal and a good bit of cheer from the reality of their life's at this time of year. Now I don't need to be told that this is a hot rod site but makes one wonder just how great a country is when so many are suffering. Sadly, I can say we have the same situation here in NZ too . Hope all Politicians enjoy their Christmas Turkeys, presents, family together time without a single thought of how many are going without. Hope all my friends and family here have a safe and enjoyable Christmas.

Round One of the system fell apart for us, and Round Two hit yesterday around mid-day but we only got minimal ice, then a wet sleet for a while before it switched over to snow. The classic "winter mix". We topped out at between two & three inches of "junk", and when plowed or shoveled it leaves the layer of sleet that doesn't want to move. Those coverings of ice look sooooo pretty, but the tree damage can be nasty and take a lot of energy to deal with.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Had some friends turn up this morning, so we sat around drinking coffee and telling each other how good we were back in the day.

Then in the arvo I got the tractor out and started on ripping out a huge flax bush that has got to go, spreading the roots out on the concrete to dry (and die,) in the brilliant sunshine.

My word but I feel sorry for you guys.

 YEAH RIGHT!

Mid seventies and buckets of liquid sunshine all day long.

Thought I might need a jet ski to get home..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.
