    Preparing for winter--------

Well, what are you doing to get ready for winter??????????

I'm rearranginging the layout of the garage so that I can get my projects inside for some progress before its cold and snowy------

First have been considering things to move around so maybe the floor pan will be more condusive to where to put which car and which way to orient them--length ways or cross ways??? Moving the aircompressor to have more area around the welder and welding bench plus my frame jigs-------Got to allow a lot of room for bending tubing for the tube to sweep either up/down or horizontal (20+ ft tubes take a lot of clear area for swing) I try to always do vertical bends as its easier to measure the bend with a level-------

Re arranging area where bandsaw, disc/belt sander to put Kwik Way boring bar/fixture back there as sorta same type cleaning issues(iron/metal chips) and that will open up area near surface grinder and CK10 hone where the boring bar was----------

Going to redo the overhead door to make it lighter and stronger---and more air tight!!!!!!!!!!!

    What are you doing??????????

I got a small wood stove installed in the corner of the living room of my small house. When I rebuilt after a fire, I rocked in the whole corner, just for this.

The living room WAS the coldest room in the house. Not now.

My shop has 10'x10' doors, 3 of them. They are wood and very heavy, so I had them all replaced with insulated doors. They are very light and much tighter in the seals. Also replaced the side door with steel insulated door. Then replaced the 3 windows which were original to the shop from 1975. They were plexiglass pull downs which were replaced with double insulated glass windows. I put a new heater in 2 years ago and had it all checked out and cleaned when the guy I use did the house heater. I am ready to go and be much warmer in the shop.

Put a new sparkplug in the snowblower, cleaned and adjusted the heater in the garage.....after buying a new furnace and a/c for the house not enough $$$$ left for a new one in the shop.... Other then that, haul some junk out, rearrange things a bit and check on prices for tickets to Phoenix, Tampa, and other warm spots to visit!!!!!

I guess it's time to drop the mower deck and mount the snow thrower... or maybe for now just put the push blade on??

probably do the early maintenance on the push mower and crank all my 2 cycles every month until the weeds start growing again in the Spring (late Feburary around here) - - other than that maybe some long sleeves instead of teeshirts and then business as usual - - - now if we get a hard winter (doubtful) then I may have to come back and delete this post LOL

I need working space for 6 cars this winter and I'm seriously considering selling off some of my engine equipment which would make room for the cars and would save several hundred $$$$$ for storage space that takes too much engine work to pay for out of profit?????????? but doesn't allow me to get anything done on the cars-------sound reasonable?????????????????

Are you saying that you're paying rent on space to do engine work, but the engine work doesn't show enough profit to even pay the rent, plus it's taking too much time to allow you to work on the cars you're wanting to build? If that's the case it sounds like a no brainer. Buy engines from someone else, and build the cars you want to build.

I have so much I need to do but I doubt I get half of it done. I'm trying to get 3 cars and trucks parted out and scrapped before it freezes and snows. I'm wanting to add another bay to my shop and I'd like to build a little shed to store my 72 in. Then I can clean up around the shop and rearrange stuff before it is all lost and stuck to the ground. I highly doubt I'll get my 76 chevy running and put the blade on it. The lists never end.

Got about6 cord of wood out back and 2 up by the house all covered and dry. Both shops are crowded as I'm working on my 72 this winter. The plow truck is parked at the end of the (1/4 mile) drive way ready to go.. Guess I can sit back and wait for winter

    Service the snow blower--
    Wash, wax, cover the car--
Gain a pound or 2 eating home made soups & warm bread pudding with whipped cream--
Dream of, yearn for, pray for a fast mild winter with Spring closely following!!!
    ;-)

Should the need arise to do something in the small 2car garage, I have one of those 2settings propane heaters. Works real good enough not to need a parka!!LOL!!
    Sweatshirt friendly, that is!!
