Another thought is IT'S SUMMER and some people go away
Summers always seem to "slow down"; folks got lots of other stuff to do.
Here's a tidbit that might add a little pizzazz from my direction in the near future. I don't want you guys to start burning rubber on my account (yet), but when I'm "really actually" ready toward the end of this year I hope to be looking to buy an old sprint car project and at that time will appreciate any advise or contacts you guys can point me toward. I think it will be a pre-WWII something or other which I would like to prepare for vintage and historic road racing. Of course I doubt I can afford any real Miller racecars or any serious Offy hardware, but I've been window shopping and have been seeing stuff that interests me. I guess if my year end bonus is larger I might be able to get something I can get on the track quicker with less long-term work; or if bonus is smaller then it'll be more of a project.
Being a northerner more so than a southerner (at least where I live), I kinda got a chuckle about the term "goin' South" meaning going to hell in a handbasket. Dem crazy rebels. << that's not political, is it?
