    39 Pontiac help

A friend of mine has a 39 Pontiac he was keeping it to restore someday. He drove it when in high school. The car is rough to say the least but is all there except the drive train. He asked me what he could get for it. SOOO I thought I'd ask for some help here. He has the front sheet metal but missing the grill.

Seriously, a similar 1940 Plymouth sold for $600 near here, and it had the original power train and all trim complete. Very nearly complete OEM, with some front & rear fender damage on the passenger side (side swiped a rock wall in 1953, just before it was parked).

"NO" no 302 I'll look around and see what Pontiac engine I can find. The car has all trim both bumpers very minor rust around rear bumper brackets. R rear fender has some damage. Got the front fenders and he found the grill. Wish now I had pulled the engine out of that GTO I had here. Hind site !!! I think I need to stop finding projects. But when the price is right.. I may just put it together and flip it I should be able to get my $ back.

Charlie, remember the Tempest with the transaxle in the rear and 1/2 of a 389 up front?

and the OHC 6-banger from '66 to '69. A 230 hp six banger coupled to a 4-speed or 5-speed should be a good fit in the engine bay of the coupe and would be a lot of fun.....
