Just depends on what your lift is going to be used for... Ive had both styles and to be honest I use the two post a lot more than the four post. The four post is great for access all the way around the car so if your doing body work its great. Also good for changing oil and another parking spot.

The two post lends itself to more maintenance capabilities. Great for doing axle, tire and wheel work. I find it easy to use the 2 post for lifting bodies on and off, Muffler work and just about anything else under the vehicle.
