Just curious, does anyone here have furniture that they have made out of car parts? I have an old Chevy 350 2 bolt block that I have no use for, so I've been tossing around the idea of cleaning up, putting it on an engine cradle and putting a piece of glass over top to make an end table.
So if you have any input or any pictures of stuff you've made, post it up!

Only thing is, I want to paint the outside of the block and lifter valley Chevy orange, but I want to shine up the bores and deck. So how would I keep those from rusting? Just clear coat them?

The concept of turning it on end and using the bores as a wine rack is kind of cool, if you ever store wine.....
Maybe whiskey bottles? :LOL:
A thought, but whisky doesn't generally need to be stored horizontal to keep corks wet. Some of the single malts are corked, but never saw anything about storing them other than vertical. Add a cooling system and store a 6 pack plus two?Quote:

I'm kind of torn between the end table with the wine bottles in it and the one I posted with the mountain dew bottle sitting on it. With a cast iron block, I would almost want it on a cradle to make it easier to move, but the one sitting on end looks pretty good too.
