Yeah and we finally got to 70 and the winds are howling but back to the cold tomorrow..
We've had about 6" of Snow at my House since last night/today-what has me worried is that yesterday I had a 10-man Landscaping Crew (with a mini-excavator) crawling all over my Yard-they replaced 3 big Trees (and a bunch of bushes, flowers and stuff)-it looks fantastic, but, it blew like crazy last night (while snowing)-everything seemed to survive, but it keeps on blowing (and we don't get a lot of wind here generally)-hope everything makes it another day (it's supposed to stop blowing then :) )-
Btw, the Temperature dropped almost 60 degrees in about two hours last night-brrrr!
We're at 71F and cloudy here Dave, but your cold is pushing in tonight and will be here through Saturday....
Yesterday it was 75* and cloudy. Today it did reach 65* and was muggy big time. The wind picked up and the temps been dropping. We're supposed to see snow as well. Dave, I'm sorry but keep that stuff. It just doesn't want to go away! :LOL:
Yeah, I bet that was no fun.
Since it was warm I snuck the coupe out for a quick jaunt down the road a piece. Had to fix a leaky trans dipstick tube..
It was so warm I opened the windows and had a blast! The trans kit "reprogrammed" the shifts further apart and seems to work as advertised. Now I just gotta clean the outside 'cause it's filthy!! rofl..
It's been clear and pleasant here for the last few days, so over the weekend I put a few miles on the roadster just cruising around. Then I took off from work yesterday since I thought I had a dentist appointment in mid morning but since it turned out the appointment is actually next Monday (yes, I screwed up my calendar) I just drove around in the roadster most of the day. It was sunny again today so I drove the roadster to work, which is about a 45 min. drive each way; it was actually a bit too warm for my taste, sunny and over 80F. I need to get some sunblock. Tomorrow it's supposed to be even warmer in the mid 80's but I put it in the garage since I have someplace work related to go in my other car. Thursday it's going back down to the mid 60's which I prefer, then cooling into the low 60's over the weekend but still sunny and clear.
Sorry the above sounded like a weather report ...I guess it was ;)
Thursday night my 18 y.o. son and I are flying to Detroit and then driving to East Lansing to visit Michigan State to see how my boy likes it; he was accepted and that's one of his top three choices. We'll be home Friday night, just in time for a nice hot rod cruising weekend.
Nick, good luck college shopping! :LOL:
Since it fits in with this thread's subject matter, I'll add that when he first started considering certain colleges, one of his main criteria was good weather. So California, Florida, and Hawaii were on his short list. We eventually expanded that to include institutions offering learning opportunities in areas he might be interested in. Then yesterday he got an acceptance letter from Univ. of Arizona in Tucson and the first thing he said was "I heard this is a great party school". :( After looking at pics of the place online, I may have to go out there with him if he goes :)
I've already mowed 3 times this ?Spring? and everything is blooming, budding and putting on fruit. Gonna be a scorcher come July/August. Standing under the car port cleaning up some wiring on the Fairlane this morning and even tho I had a fan blowing on me, I was still sweating like a prostitute on $1 night.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!! I'm jealous!!!!:LOL::LOL::LOL:
4" of snow today, and another 3 predicted for the overnight!!!!! Snow is supposed to end around noon tomorrow, then the forecast calls for "warming up" to the mid to high 30's and rain showers through the weekend!!!!!
Sweating???? Don't remember, is that something that comes with warm weather or ??????
Man you know its bad when you need a fan outside. We'er supossed to get snow here Friday was 60s yesterday?????
Well Dave I looked at the Weather map this morning and I saw the snow record of 20" for this date in S.D. but here in central VA it has been 85-90 F for Mon-Tues-Wed. Ten days ago we had 2" of snow and I missed out on taking a picture of blossoming trees in the snow but the snow melted by the afternoon anyway. My grown son mowed the lawn for the first time yesterday! Most of the commercial buildings in this area have flowering pear trees that don't get fruit but they get puffy snowball white flowers in Spring before the forcythias come out with yellow. Just yesterday our forcythias made it to full bloom and today was the first day I reached a sweat in just a T-shirt. However that cold bulge usually comes east so I hope it is just rain by the time it reaches the East Coast. I saw that the folks in Fargo had filled one million sand bags to try and hold back the Red River, but doesn't that happen every Spring? Maybe land near Fargo is one of the most extreme weather sites in the U.S.?

Now THAT is FUNNY!!! :LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:
Since the weather was holding steady I took the coupe for it's safety inspection sticker.. The old one expired in January.. oops... :rolleyes:
While I had it out I brought it home and gave it a bath after dinner. Then a short ride with the front windshield cracked open and thought Boy, life can be good!:)
Hush yo mouff, Robin, our leaders don't believe in the word employment - - - - they've spent billions getting the unemployed to where they "aren't" today.
A car doesn't mind if you like another car and take it for a drive - - - well, blah blah blah blah LOL
Had a couple new neighbors move into the tree just outside the office window, even though it was a little windy. They say it's Spring but there's a chance of snow tonight. :eek:

It was close to 90F around here today. I'm pretty sure that was a new record based on what I heard yesterday about the previous high for this day being 87F back in the 1920's. That's too warm for my taste so I'm looking forward to sunny and mid 60's this weekend.
Spring sprung here a while back, but then thought twice and gave us some late rain, today however was lovely 75-78 degrees, with a cool breeze. In short we were blessed, sorry about all the cold up there Dave!
Yep,,SOMEONE,puleeeze,shut that gate..It's reaching all the way down here....Ohh,hang on...it's coming up from the south,,that's right,,winter is approaching....:LOL::LOL:Cold,but fine crisp days here at the moment..The dusting of snow on the hill above Johnboy's place has disappeared,for a few weeks..:LOL:
Well Lammy, CLOSE the door, I'm feeling a draft! LOL..
I think we're about finished with the snow for now, whoever is getting the storm next all I can say is ENJOY!!!!!!!:LOL::LOL::LOL:
...........
NAH, You can keep it over there Dave... I just took the plow and thrower off the rigs... Maybe IC2 wants it?!?!?
Yeah Dave I'm always happy to get rain, we need the moisture. Even better is snow in the sierras as the snow pack provides much of our summer water!
Man, it just never ends!!!!! Today is 30 degrees, freezing rain and sleet. The back deck has 1/2" of ice on it. The forecast shows much the same for the first half of the week.
What a difference a couple of hundred miles makes! We're at about 71F but the winds are howling from the south, blowing in a rain storm. One grandson is playing in a baseball tournament, trying to get games in before the storms!! Second game of the day starts at 2pm, then they play at 4 if they win.
Warm here in Nor Cal, bout 75 today, storm blowing in tomorrow from the north, poss rain here, snow in the mtns...
