Early August will bring a unique opportunity to see a wide range of the old War Birds when Forbes Field in Topeka, Kansas hosts the Gathering of Warbirds and Legends - Warbirds and Legends If you "do Facebook" the group has been doing regular updates there, like today's offering:
Owner John Sessions stands beside the Grumman F7-F "Bad Kitty" today that he will fly to Topeka for the gathering. Johns crews will also bring his Pan Am DC-3 as one of the 17 DC-3 SLOT holders for the event. The F7-F is one of 9 left in the world, of the 9, only 4 are in flying condition today. You can see from their website the range of planes already committed to the event, and the opportunity to see one like the F7-F is amazing. Just thought that some of you lover's of old aircraft might think about a trip to enjoy a few days of August in Kansas!! Bring sunscreen, and maybe an umbrella for the chair!
