    That museum you mentioned would be Nigel Ogle's Tawhiti Museum, yep; a must see.
    Allow four hours or more.
    Bloody gorgeous.

    Whoever told you the Forgotten Highway is tarsealed all the way is telling you porkies...it's tarsealed from Stratford to Whangamamona...but from there on...it's metal.

    There's not a lot of gravel road there,though,, and it's not a bad road,otherwise Dave Kindberg wouldn't have taken the purple slug through there last year,on the way to Turangi..
