The old ASA rule of 9:1 compression for the engine with max 600 CFM carb sure did make for some great racing for about 10 years in that Division!!! Cars still had good power, could accelerate by themselves thereby not having to run in a pack!!!! Maybe (and the fans hate this) NASCAR speed and power has just outgrown the Superspeedways?????Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I certainly agree that they've outgrown the superspeedways, about 20 years ago!
When they lost just over half the field in one crash "AGAIN"! How many times do we have to see this? I remember Kyle Petty in an interview begging the France family to get rid of the spoilers, make the cars less aero dependant and return the racing like it was in the 60's.. But I guess the France's will do anything to please the fans (and collect the entrance fee!) even at the cost of a drivers life?
I guess that's not fair to say as they've done a lot for the safety aspect but, last week was the worst in recent memory. Something needs to change I'm thinking.
Mr. Yates himself said 10 years ago when Dale Jarrett was his driver, NASCAR needs to drop to 300 cid / drop the compression / and now with efi..... ???????
