Oh, yeah! Ya done good, putting it in the corner and turning off the lights. Some days are just that way. I am prone to taking on a different project, though, if one goes haywire like that. If that next one goes awry, I have been known to seek out a chair I can't fall out of, and just veg for the rest of the day.
Almost every one of the above personal disasters have happened to me. I still have all of my fingers - and have had my share of other kinds of non-life threatening kinds involving tools and parts. My table saw kicking back has done a couple .......
Several years ago, Sharon and I were getting ready to go to the airport to fly to Las Vegas for the weekend. First, the car wouldn't start due to corrosion between cable end and battery post. Fixed that. Started toward the airport and realized we didn't have enough gas to get there, so stopped to get some gas (already running way late). While putting gas in the car, noticed that one of the tires was low. Aired the tire, paid for the gas and sped to the airport to make the flight. Found a park in the shuttle lot and waited for the shuttle bus. It arrived and the driver attempted to open the door for us to enter. It was stuck and no amount of effort would make it open. The driver said he would radio for another bus, but I said no thanks. I put the luggage back in the car and we went back home. I explained to Sharon that this trip was not meant to be and that if we persisted, we'd be in the news later that day. You just have to know when to quit.
For some reason I wanted to use my tractor, so walked up to the tractor shed to get it.
Then I noticed one rear tyre was soft.
So walked back to my workshop to get my little compressor.
The compressor is about 2'6" high but has a wheel track of about 12" so is top-heavy and awkward, okay to move around the workshop, but a real pain to drag across 100 yards of paddock.
Got it there, then walked back to get the air hose.
Back to the tractor shed.
Looked in my pocket for the chalk I'd put in there to mark on the tyre when the valve would be at the top.
In my fight with the compressor I'd turned the chalk to dust.
So back to the workshop for another piece.
While I'm about it I'd better check all four tyres, 12 psi rear, 28 psi front.
Then drag the compressor back to the workshop.
And another trip to return the air hose.
About an hour after I set out I finally drove the tractor out of the shed.
Then when She Who Must Be Obeyed asks "What did you do today dear?"...and then gives you a 'look' when you reply "Umm, nothing"...

Four days into a three week vacation to the Colorado Rockies, I called it all off because of a couple of days like that, and drove home to SoCal and finished building our patio and poured some sidewalks. Like TechInspector said, sometime you just have to know when to quit. :HMMM::)
Last week I was printing out panels for a billboard (2 sided 12'x20'). I had one panel to go but had a deadline lettering job to do out of town. When I returned I tured the laptop on to finish the last panel & the laptop died. :eek: Ran to the store, picked up a replacement, came home & ..................... the printer software was no where to be found........ Called my supplier & he got a copy to me, but, the new software DOES NOT have the old ICC profiles. Those are the files that tell the printer how to apply the ink to various media. So........ now I can't match the color of that last panel.:eek::eek: Over the weekend we're going to see if we can find the old profile somewhere on the net. If not I will have to reprint one of the 12'x20' sides all over again... :whacked:
This is also the first of what may be several billboards for the company, so just a good match isn't good enough. :CRY:
