I would also like to hear what the environmental costs of battery production, maintenance and disposal for these environmental Gems(GM's). I also want to know where the extra electricity is suppose to come from to power them. It's like solar energy, seems clean and great, then you quietly hear about the toxic waste generated in their production, look at the rediculous expense of instalation(again government subsidized) and the long term payoff, that is offset by their degeneration, and failure around 20-25 years out. Nobody has addressed what is involved in recycling solar cells either. It's sad when great ideas get manipulated by media and politics, ultimately to benefit the Politicians, and scammers who in the name of promoting a clean future take everyone to the cleaners, laughing all the way at how stupid we are not seeing what is right in front of us!. I was excitied about solar for our place, until I realized it would cost alot more than just it's initial purchase, and I may not break even over the life of the cell. Then I was excited by leasing a solar setup, until I realized that was even worse over the long run, only benefiting the lease company! Hopefully the future of electrics will be cleaner and less toxic!
