Just one more thing to ponder during the course of my day!!!! Other concerns are;

1. Why do drive on the parkway and park on the driveway?

2. Why does sour cream have an expiration date on the package?

Hope I don't wind up with a headache from thinking again!!!!!

Speaking as a newbie... there are sites out there that love to chew up and spit out newbies, so we tend to lurk a while before we post or join. And as a site administrator for a jeep site, there are a TON of bots out there getting info for google and other search engines, along with the spambots that try to get in and leave their junk in our sites.. A look at recent error logs may give a better idea of just what is happening.

Yessir,,I think some sites like to test you out,,''Whats this dude made of?Lets see how far we can push him'',type of attitude..We are lucky on here,,its a good site and Uncle Bill keeps us tickin over ,POLITELY... And thats kool,cos I hate the scratchin I see in other places..

Another site I frequent had 113 members and 113 guests on my last visit and this seems to be a regular pattern.
Why such a difference? Is it just that many of the "guests" are actually members who haven't signed in or is there some reason so many visitors are not becoming members?

About 40% are attributed to internet "bots", the other 59% are lurkers located world wide. 1% are the usual spammers attempting to open new accounts in which to flood this site with their advertisements.

Thanks for the comments. I wasn't complaining or trying to imply something is wrong with the site, I just noticed that it was different from the other site and I wondered if there was a reason. I don't frequent a lot of different sites so I'm not aware whether this ratio is the norm or the exception.
I do like Uncle Bob's suggestion for more technical postings....the build logs are the first section I look at here.
