I was just trying to stir up ol Dave. hahaha They are all in a learning curve now with EFI and the new front design lots of Chevys pushing water, that could lead to blown engines

This was a big race for the Toyota camp - a win in the first ever NASCAR EFI race, plus the first Bud Shootout win in six tries. This is going to be an interesting season. Toyota has tons of EFI experience from their support of the Indy Car series a few years back, plus there is a new mentality between the Gibbs & Waltrip teams related to EFI information. KB in the past has been the poster child for the "spoiled brat" group, but if they got his attention at the end of 2011 he may be a force to reckon with for 2012. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a big KB fan, but it sounds like he did some amazing driving last night.
Before the wreckin' thinned the field twice the Earnhardt/Childress engined cars looked mighty strong too when horsepower seemed to matter.
I saw him do a save that they say most drivers couldn't do and I agree with that.
Gatorade Duel this afternoon - 2:00 EST. Check you local times.
Might be a couple good 150 mile races - or a double crash fest if the 'boys' haven't figured out they can't bump/push in the corners
From the talk on the HUB this week, it would seem most have ruled out hitting someone off center---but for those who have to race their way into the 500, I don't think driving conservatively will be part of the race plan!!!!!
I saw in one of the papers that "they've" renamed the big race to the Danica 500 or another one was Danicapalooza! Here comes the circus! LOL..
Well Patrick proved her toughness in this crash today.
Danica Patrick endures a heavy crash at Daytona, proving her toughness in the process - NASCAR - Yahoo! Sports
Now she needs to prove her driving skills on the 500 coming from near the back of the pack,
Smoke won the 1st race, Kenseth won the 2nd.... Didn't watch the races, just the highlights but from what I saw it was a lot better racing then the Shootout!!!!
You're right Dave. With this year's mods to the cars it looks like the cars are somewhere between the pack style of a few years ago, and the tandem style of the last couple, and these guys are starting to figure it out better. Still, the 500 will probably be 450 miles of round and round, and then start getting dicey the last 50 or so.
Yeah, but always the same story; In order to finish first, you must first finish! Curious now to see if it becomes the old 2 pack race again---450 miles of trying to position yourself where the big wreck isn't, then 50 miles of trying to win it!!!! With the shorter rear spoiler the cars all seem to be a bit on the loose side, probably why the old dirt trackers could have an edge on Sunday....
Anyone know if it is on network TV??.
Really??????
Danica was doing great for herself 'til she got clipped on the right front. Oh well, last lap desire to improve by everyone knocked her out.
The BIGGEST Nascar race of the season, you can bet it's on Network TV! Check your area listings.
Thanks guys.
My vote for most hilarious headline of the week: Vickers says he's just waiting for right 2012 option
Translated into plain english, that probably means his phone hasn't exactly been ringin' off the hook.
Well, the points racing starts tonight, trucks are qualifying now and race this evening!!! Man, do I need a racing fix!!! Around here we're still recovering from 7" of snow on Wednesday.......:CRY::CRY:
My guess is that if he really wants to race in the top three divisions he will need to find a truck owner who can afford him - that is, his weekly wrecks. Not a driver I would like in my car.
This is by far the stupidest that I've see so far: "For Daytona, We Are All Closet Dale, Jr. Fans". NOT A FREAKIN' CHANCE !!!!!!!!!!!*

Danica ON THE POLE
Truck race should be good, qualifying was fast even with a big wind blowing! Danica got the pole for the Nationwide race!!!
Howard, I'd be just plain giggly for a day in the 70's this time of year, we're at least a month away from that temp!!!!!
Well, 100 laps of madness in the truck race, any bets on who might win this thing????? I'd like to see Skinner or Hornady win it just to show these kids that the old guys can still race!!!!!!!
Dancia got bigger cohunans than me.In my crash I was all bruised up from the harness and whining like a baby for awhile after. For her to jump back in the next day to win a pole is impressive to say the least.
The truck race sure left lots of owners with some big repair bills to pay - and a new face at the winners circle. I didn't watch much of the pre race show - too much fawning over the Dillons. And Danica - that pole should make some of her detractors shut up at least for a while.
They sure did tear up some trucks!!!! First race of the year and lots of rookies, kind of saw that coming.. Oh well, guess everybody has to learn somewhere.
Because of weather possibilities,Sun's race might be started a hr earlier.FYI.
Ty Dillion must have used up a whole season's worth of lucky breaks just missing the big wrecks last night. Then John King (rookie) wins the race in front of what appeared to be a large crowd for a truck race, takes butts in the seats to keep cars on the track!!!! Attendance is usually huge at Daytona, sure hope it's the same for the rest of the tracks and for that matter, all of Motorsports this season!!!!!
Arrrgh! We had company over for dinner last night and I totally forgot to DVR the race, AGAIN!!! This CRS is getting to be toooooo much!
All the chebbie guys are running hot, and the Fords are running fast-----Could be a very good race!!!!!! (for Carl, Matt, & Greg)
Yup, there's another major issue!!!! The whole race IMO is going to be a driver's race, along with some pit strategy. Got to stay out of the wrecks, stay with the leaders, take care of the car, keep up with the track, and a hundred other things all while running flat out at 195 mph...... Should be easy enough to do, right?????
Yeah, thanks for the heads up on the re-run - I set the DVR to grab that one, plus "...any new event" so I can at least FF through them looking for action. Adding to Dave S', it should indeed be a good race, and I don't think you can count out the TRD crowd, either. They won the Bud Shootout in the first ever with EFI, first ever for Toyota so at this point in the season it's probably anyones race to grab.
Live, down here,7AM start,(Monday,of course)according to our tv guide..Might hafta get up a bit earlier so I can watch and not miss out on too much work..
There is something to be said about the top runners getting threw all these races this week no problem and doing that for yrs.I watched a program on ABC today called "The Big Time" sponsored by Bud.It was about three novices going threw three challenges for one of them to get to race some of RCR's top three drivers in laps at the Rock.Sure alot more to driving than just turning left.I think this race we get to see the best of the best even if they at the bottom of the field.
Again, and in the Nationwide race, they managed to keep the chassis builders and tin hangers gainfully employed - and another newbie emerged from the scattered debris. This afternoon, another wasted one for the 500. At least the weather is cold and windy and that bathroom tiling job ..... tomorrow is another day.
