Jerry.All due respect,but given the weather issues and destruction that has happened,I would expect the churches to do exactly that. Bottom line is there are no jobs. And isn't interesting with all the gaming places there,isn't it a classic case of the haves and have nots??.

have's = those who hit the ground running every morning to make a living.
have not's = those who lay up in bed and let someone else worry about it.

there is always work for a man willing to work . but having a gal with 3-4 kids drawing welfare and a check on each kid is easier than actually working. one of the new tricks is to force the school into putting the kids in special ed. then they can draw an ssi check on them. not to mention the 2500 each they get back on income taxes even though they pay none.
this is what is wrong. much of it was started by the damn republicans when they shifted left some years ago. they now realize it was a complete failure and are out to change it. when they make more on welfare than taking a job they are not about to go to work. they get free health care / dental , free child care , food stamps , free housing , free cell phone . tell me this is not messed up .

kudo's to the states that require the parasites to take a drug test. everybody else does.

The local paper is running a series on poverty folks and it seems that most have at least one kid and generally more. Most of them don't have a job and that's BS as our place uses a lot of temp help which leads to full time if they really want to work.

yep--them big stores are all hiring 50,000-100,000 to sell the chinese junk on government bank cards--since they now are all super stores and sell groceries, THEY can check out with carts full of products that they then sell to loscum(low scum) resturants for cash to go buy drugs with!!!!!!!!!!!!!don't believe me? go to any of those places after midnite last day of month and see the crowds filling there carts with stuff that you can probably see changing hands again out in the parking lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and check out the 200 sneakers on there feet!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well it seems unemployment will soon be droping as we get to part time Christmas help,and election draws near Some chains hiering (if they can get them)as many as 50,000.

Weather?????????? if you are talking about Katrina---the destruction resulted in lots of jobs, in fact workers came from all over the country because THEY wouldn't work----------
But besides that--lumber industry is bigger in Miss than most of the western states
car factories--------thousands of jobs----------
government workers------thousands---to process all those applications for welfare

have and have nots????? people I know are looking to leave because to a person they say that the people there have no morals------------common answer about a killing--somebody had to die

now then. after the depression the government put people to work . now they just pass out checks. drug test them and let them work for the county . there's plenty of unskilled work to do. beats hiring illegal to do it .
supply and demand has always ruled the economy. until the unemployment gets down to 5% thing s do not change. at 5% everyone is working because 5% of the country wouldn't work if they were given a job.

want to talk about a wasted war how about the war on drugs . billions of dollars spent with 0 results . wanna know why they wont decriminalize pot ??? it's part the hidden economy . dumbest thing we have going. legalize it , tax hell out of it and the border problem is 70% taken care of. then they can concentrate on meth and coke which are destroying our country.

I thought of one other escaped fact.We go on and on about those people on drugs etc,etc. Guys,the street drug industry is funded by rich white people taking a advantage of the underprivileged. The have and have not's??. It most certainly is.

i expect him to LEAD this nation. which obama has not and can not. he does not have the experience.
those poor poor people you talk about in miss dont want to work. how come they did not take the jobs of rebuilding ? thousands of workers headed there to work while those people headed for houston to set on their butt and draw a check. ask anybody from houston.

once again you jab at the rich white people. it is obvious you know very little about what really goes on in the drug world . are there rich people involved in it ? of course there are. money cant fix stupid . look at the nfl .

then we whine about the wars. just exactly when was it we did not have a conflict going ? dont tell me how the democrats are all about ending wars. kennedy escalated vietnam then johnson raided ss to fund it so he wouldn't have to raise taxes and make the party look bad. and yes i know Eisenhower started it and it was a republican who called it off. parties dont matter.

and yes i agree we need to tell the middle east where to go. there is no hope for that place. they wont work and make the women do it , expect the gov to feed them , condone banditry and anything else illegal. sound familiar ?

but the fact remains obama has failed miserably . he has no leadership qualities and another 4 years wont change that . the usa is the largest corporation on the planet . as a share holder i want a man at the helm who knows how to get it done. if romney cant he's gone in 4 . should be the same for the senate and congress . do your job or your fired.

i'm still waiting to hear why obama deserves another 4 years . not a jab at you i just want to know .

Shine-it makes sense to me,that we can't expect people to do work that they where never trained to do in the first place from Miss.Skilled trades flooded the market soaking up whatever funds where there and where on a first hired basis.Those people from Miss ninth ward where poor undereducated people before the flood. Some loss the jobs they had. But where ignored for yrs before the flood and afterwards had next to nothing. Heck many didn't have cars so the could run away from the storm.

Most poor have cell phones, big screen TV, but cannot somehow pay the electric bill, so quit knocking rich and self reliant folks most do not feel guilty and nor should they for earning their own way in life.

A large percentage are poor because of their choices in life so in reality they choose to be that way. Anyone and I mean ANYONE can make it in this country. There are many opportunities offered some free BTW, the poor do not wish to put the effort into it. Why should they, we are out here pulling the wagon and some feeling their pain, they are laughing their poor asses off at you.
