I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't want some non-American in the Oval Office. This man hates America. His frumpy wife hates America. He is not my president. She is not my first lady. These people are all about CHANGING AMERICA. I don't think America needs changing. The founding fathers set it up to work for everyone, but these guys want to take us back to unarmed serfdom. You guys who haven't read the Obamacare legislation really should take the time to educate yourselves. The disarming of American citizens is in there. Is that what you want? You want to be standin' there with nothing in your hand when the troops bust down your front door to search your home? Well, just keep votin' for those Democrats and that's where it's headed. Big money wants you to be a fully-controlled serf with no rights and no way to fight back. All of these candidates have to take the "One World Government" pledge or they wouldn't get the backing and support to become elected.

This guy makes Harry Truman look like a Republican.

I am of the opinion that neither of them should be President. What would be best for the Republic would be the election of all new and fresh patriot independents in the Oval Office and in Congress. Anything this side of that scenario will be unacceptable to me.
To take away a private citizen's legal weapon against our military really wouldn't matter all that much with all due respect Richard. And certainly that isn't what I would want to see either. The right to bear arms our for fathers wrote about was during a time when it did matter.
The last paragraph you wrote,I'm with you 150%. The time has long past when we need people who have a interest in the country and it's people first.

Against our military???? This isn't about being armed against our military. It's about being armed against the tyranny and oppression of an out-of-control government that is controlled by big money. It's about resisting being reduced to an unarmed serf who is forced to hunker down to an armed master. During WWII, the Japanese decided against an invasion of mainland U.S. They envisioned "a gun behind every tree" and that's the way it has to be for a people to be free.

Gary, I'm almost speechless. I'm shocked for sure at this statement. Are you of the opinion that it doesn't matter today???? If that's the case, then there is little hope for you and others who think like you. Freedom requires constant vigil by concerned citizens who view themselves as patriots. It isn't free today any more than it was 200 years ago.

This has turned into quite the thread. Few things in life surprise me anymore, disappoint perhaps, but the comments and opinions expressed here seem to be a good slice of America today – divided and seemingly bitter about a lot of things. For the most part, I find the “hot rod crowd” I know to be conservative and this forum is full of a lot of folks who embrace similar values to those I hold dear in terms of “God, family and country”. One thing I’m sure of is that few (if any) here will change party affiliation or who they will vote for based on anything I may post. This thread has been a good place to “vent”, but I doubt it will influence the outcome of our upcoming election.

I tend to view things as they ultimately affect me - and let’s be honest – don’t most of us? I cannot understand why so many people blindly accept and then advocate that government intervention (and ultimately control) is a necessity in our lives. They truly believe that less government will cause anarchy in America and lessening of government regulation leads to inequality and depression. When one depends on the government to supply or fill a need, it means that somewhere someone has paid for something that they will never receive so that someone who has not worked for it will receive it from the “government”. While I truly believe we as a people should care for those less fortunate (the sick, old or mentally incapacitated) I am tired of buying junk food, cell phones, new cars, and cable TV for those who pay no taxes, rather they receive money from the government. And don’t tell me, “… they pay payroll taxes – it’s withheld from their earnings!” Yes and when they file their income taxes it all comes back and sometime more than has been withheld.

Mr. Obama is the worst president this country has ever had – he is the president of the press – they created him and they love him. Hillary was not my favorite by any means, but the press knew she would not be easily controlled and as such, they vilified her and threw her under the bus. I will say that some great strategic mind in Obama’s inner-circle thought to field her as Secretary of State – out of the way and an absolute “no-win” for Hillary. Saying “no” would have been seen as sour grapes to Obama’s “olive branch” and accepting the position put her on ice for four years.

Dr. Jack Wheeler describes Obama thusly:
“The O-man, Barack Hussein Obama, is an eloquently tailored empty suit. No resume, no accomplishments, no experience, no original ideas, no understanding of how the economy works, no understanding of how the world works, no balls, nothing but abstract, empty rhetoric devoid of real substance.

He has no real identity. He is half-white, which he rejects. The rest of him is mostly Arab, which he hides but is disclosed by his non-African Arabic surname and his Arabic first and middle names as a way to triply proclaim his Arabic parentage to people in Kenya. Only a small part of him is African Black from his Luo (Kenyan) grandmother, which he pretends he is exclusively.

What he isn't, not a genetic drop of, is 'African-American,' the descendant of enslaved Africans brought to America chained in slave ships. He hasn't a single ancestor who was a slave. Instead, his Arab ancestors were slave owners. Slave-trading was the main Arab business in East Africa for centuries until the British ended it. Let that sink in: Obama is not the descendant of slaves; he is the descendant of slave owners.”

Mr. (and Mrs.) Obama are classic “entitlement mentality” people – they are egotistical beyond measure and believe that they are truly “entitled” to whatever they so desire and that they shouldn’t have to work (or pay) for it. Really – his salary is $400K a year.

I do not think Mr. Romney is the “ultimate choice” for a candidate and it’s yet to be seen if he would be a good president. We do know that he knows business, how to make payrolls and balance budgets, etc. The current occupant of the Whitehouse had zero experience there.

Don’t get me started with Mr. Obama as the CIC of our military – he is not a hero nor is he brave. He is a coward and has taken credit for things he should not have and perhaps even jeopardized our elite forces with his big mouth. The military hates him – just ask a soldier – I have and as of yet, not found one who respects Mr. Obama. The press can spin this any which way but the truth and they’re very good at it – but Mr. Obama exploits the military for public and political gain period.

My vote will go for real change as we can certainly use some “fresh” leadership from someone who’s committed to this country and our needs rather than a self-serving egomaniac who has no clue.

With all that – please do vote – we are a nation that still enjoys that freedom and privilege!

    Regards All,
    Glenn

Well, he didn't remove the flag from Air Force one. That's actually a myth. But he did call our constitution an imperfect document, and he does want to redesign the flag... Here is his version on sale now. Only $35 from his very own web store

That is the campaign plane and not Air Force One. This is 1 I wish I could say was true, because I would not put it past Obama. But this is AF One as of April 2011 when that rumor started. . I usually take Snopes with a grain of salt when it comes to politics, but in this case, there is enough evidence suggesting it's not true ( even the link you posted says it's false ).. It still does not change my views and disagreements with Obama's policies.

I like this forum, even though it does bring bitter opinions at times when it touches a nerve or a passionate belief. I've been a life long Democrat, but this election has definately spurred me to really consider my choices, givens how my representatives opinions will effect my personnal life. I think I'll swing to the Romney side, mostly for 2nd ammendment rights, deregulation, at a point where everything seems to be regulated, and my personal belief that we need to take care of our own, not illegals.
wE'VE ALL HASHED THIS OUT BEFORE, SO i PRETTY MUCH KNOW EVERYONES VIEWPOINTS AND UNDERSTAND AND RESPECT THEM, THIS IS JUST MY VIEW THIS YEAR AT THIS TIME.(Sorry about the caps lock getting triggered!)

Every time a big union's contract with a company runs out we hear endless moaning and groaning and tales of woe about how the big corporations are giving the shaft to the poor "working man".

To hear them tell it they are the most overworked, underpaid, put-upon bunch of poor s.o.b.'s in the world.

Around here American Airlines crews are telling us all about it. American Airlines (for whatever reason) is in some state of bankruptcy and, take it from somebody who knows, it is possible that we may see some of those people working down at the car-wash in the future.

I can say that with a degree of certainty. I worked 20+ years for an airline that went kaput.

I have worked both union and non-union (I had to pay union dues to get the job). I
was a lousy member of the "brotherhood". I couldn't handle having some of those people doing my talking for me.

I was more comfortable doing aircraft repair work out of the back of a Chevy S10 for fifteen years.

While doing so I managed to keep my family fed, and I considered myself to be a working man.

Big tracks I hear you. I am union and I benefit directly from the affiliation. They do good things in reguards to safety in the workplace, but the bleed the hospitals dry at times, and misrepresent the workers too. Last strike the picket signs they gave us, were very missleading to the general public. Some people are fervent Union, some anti, I'm inbetween.

Yes you are a working man,as is the musician, farmer, salesman, coalminer, ect, ect!! I don't know how old you are but back in the 50's and 60's what I remember growing up is the man went to work and mom worked at home,we lived on one income, that has change, maybe a little greed but to make a living 2 people need to work! the definition of a working man is someone goes the work every day, every week, every month, everyyear, year after year after year!! These rich politicians really do not know or experienced working for someone else year after year!!Big Company's buy other Company's and lay off or close up for profits to shareholders(not illegal), There seems to be no pride any more just profits! Sunoco refinery in Philadelphia for years did not update to refine less quality crude and had to buy sweet crude to refine at a higher cost, they decided to sell or shut down.Brought in a new CEO she liquidated all there assets, laid off white and blue collar workers to the tune of 2 billion dollars, sold to Carlyle Group and got a 35 million dollar bonus!! Nice work if you can get it!! Pete
