Whip just tunning in here. Sorry to hear about the dementia. My great Aunt had it for the last 3 years of her life. It took it's toll on everyone. I know how you feel missing your mom when she was in the hospital. My mom passed 15 years ago from cancer. We were able to keep her home, and take care of her until she passed. I'll never regret one minute of that time. Good for you sticking with her.

Thanks again and Roger, it isn't funny much when your own family are like that, but it is a sign of the "I am It " world we live in. Robin, my sister lives approximately 15 minutes from here but she believes she has done her bit for Mum years ago. I have 2 brothers,1 in Invercargill , the other in England,( the most supportive) and another sister in Dunedin. I have more then shed my problems with God and,you know, He never tires from hearing from me and heck, He is a Lord of Love with a excellent sense of humour.

Indeed he is, Whip. I'm convinced that God has a very active sense of humor, but also that He has total and unconditional love for us. I won't bore you with the tales of my sister's approach to mom & dad's needs, only that there were only the two of us and she stayed 700miles away except for annual or semi-annual visits that were limited to part of a weekend even though she was retired.
Hang in there, and keep us in the loop as you're comfortable with it. You've got a lot of support and prayers from this place, and prayers from others are powerful, powerful tools.

Hey Dave,it would be an honour to have you and those two little angels down here and heck Mum would be pleased with the company also our gold version of Pepper, Nelson. I have good friends that foster children and they have a 5 year old that the parents shock when a newborn baby, that both Mum and Nelson love when they visit. I too am waiting patiently for that bridge to be build as I have so many friends that I wish to meet face to face in this small world we live in.

I reckon there are enough people who dont want to work,in both countries..Why dont our governments implement a current version of ''Bridge over the river Kwai''and start the project.. 'Work,or swim with da fishes.'...

Unemployment number going lower ? "Remember liars can figure and figures can lie." We do not have a clue what are the real numbers the feds are lying.

Glad to see you back, Whip. Mom's lucky to have a son like you; prayer headed your way for both of you, brother.

Thanks guys, on a funny side of things now, the brain is certainly a strange object, Mum has come home from hospital with an idea that she doesn't wear glasses and is always removing hers. I have had to show her photo's of her to prove she does but that appears not to be enough to persuade her to keep her glasses on. And I thought it was bad enough looking at her without her false teeth in but Mum without glasses is totally new to me.
