Not that it matters to much but, there's 3 points between first & second!

I'm just tickled it won't be Johnson!

My heart says Smoke, my head says Edwards. Tony might have gotten in Carl's head a little, and has the champ experience, but driver/crew chief combo goes to Edwards team. I'll go with my head....................but barely. When it's that close, especially with the current point system, the littlest outside factor can blow your plan/performance, and your chance at the title.

I would disagree about Smoke in Edwards head! Carl did the same job in the last race as he and the crew have done all season! Do the best that they can! They should be named the Reliability Team! They've only had a single win but look at the top 10's and top 5's... It really throws a wrench into Nascars program of naming a champion with the most wins or winning is the only thing that matters. The reason this whole points scheme was concocted was after Matt Kenseth got his championship without a win. Everyone seemed upset at being to accomplish a championship without winning races...

Well, if speculating on what NASCAR thinks is part of the game, then I'll bet their first concern is how many spectators were imitating empty seats last week.........followed closely by difficulty attracting big time sponsors. They've got to be thankful they've got an exciting finish to the season shaped up with two relatively well liked drivers, neither named Johnson. Imagine if the last two most likely champ winning drivers both had the last name Busch!

For me the points deal in any racing is something I really don't care for.I side more on the fact of how many wins when things are so tight car to car and the fact of that it is really" better to be lucky than good". I have seen so many times in drag racing guys with cars that you really couldn't spend any more money on the car and they couldn't win spit.

Only 2 races left, today in Pheonix, then Homestead. Smoke has a bunch of wins at Pheonix dating back to his USAC days.... So many things can happen in two races! I'm pulling for Smoke but I like Edwards too. Don't forget Kenseth has the pole. The track has been rebuilt since the last time NASCAR was here, but some of the driver's have stated it drives like the old one. The progressive banking and wider front straight could add some more passing lanes...

As for the championship, either one would be ok with me. But I have to pull for Carl because Tony already has won it before.

They went to the chase because of Matt winning the championship without winning a race. They said that they went to the current points system because it was easier for us (the viewer) to figure it out. I guess that they think we are stupid or something.

I do think they should change the points again and give the race winner more bonus points for winning. Like an extra 50 points or something similar.

Although, I really do not care if the person that wins the championship wins a race at all. That just meens that they were the most consistant through the whole year. Sure it would be bad to get cought up in someone elses accident and then DNF but that is the chance that all 43 teams on the track take.

And so Carl finishes ahead of Tony and they are still 3 points apart! To bad about Kenseth... seems dirty but who can really say? The other guy said he was gonna get him and I guess he did just that!

I see no differance in what Brian did to what Kyle did except Kyle did it under yellow. Same/same to me. He wrecked him on purpose and Matt is (well was) in the chase for the championship. Brian should get fined 50K and set out next weeks race. Not that setting out next weeks race matters to him as he probably will not have a ride next year anyway,at least not with RedBull, but the fine might give him something to think about.

Just caught the last of the race, the new track sure does have more lanes to it! Going to come down to the last race, the way it should be!!!! Should be one heck of a good race, for sure!!! Good to see Kahne pick up a win, 18 different winners this year and it all comes down to the last race of the season!!!!
