NHRA announced on their web site that Target would have '62 & '67 Nationals shirts. I called the local stores, and checked online. Nothing.

Indy '62 was my first drag race ever. I would sure like to buy the shirt that I didn't get when I was 13!

 Anyone know anything?

Jay, here is what they have. Target calls their sku numbers "DCPI", so if you call and give them the following DCPI numbers they can put them in their computer. Out of the 1000 or so Target Stores most should have these available.

 1962 Nationals shirts:

 Small.............043-018485
 Med...............043-018486
 Large.............043-018487
 X Large..........043-018488

 1972 Winter Nats shirts:

 Small.............043-018489
 Medium......... 043-018490
 Large.............043-018491
 X Large..........043-018492

Those are the only ones Target will carry. Hope this helps.

 Don

Jay, I just called our local Target and they are holding one of the 1962 ones for me, so it looks like those numbers are good.

I ran out to do some errands and stopped by Target. The shirts come in two colors only, the 1962 one is a faded red and the 1972 is sort of a dark gray. I think they did them this way to make them look aged, because the lettering is also faded out somewhat.

Not bad quality, a little thin, but they are only $ 9.95 so I picked up a few. If you go into Target they are on one of the walls in the mens section, in cubes with lots of other T shirts, like Coca Cola, Led Zeplin, etc. There is a sign on the cubes showing what is in that area and NHRA is prominently displayed so you will not miss it.

Here are the ones I bought.

Well, since this is a thread from October '11 you may not still find them at Target, but that would be about the only option, I would think. As far as "...getting it cheap" they were $10 T-Shirts That's probably about what they would have been back in the day, but you might luck out and find them on a clearance rack after three months? Welcome to CHR, by the way! What's your ride/project, and what brought you to CHR?Roger

That would probably be your best bet. That shirt was special for me, since it was my first-ever drag race... and "set the hook" for a life long career in hot rods and customs. I bought a second one on ebay, but with shipping it cost me about $25.

I would check the local stores, then try a google search, then see what your choices are.

Looks like they were only in "select" Target & WalMart stores as a test market NHRA Story » NHRA Classics logo T-shirts available at select Target, Walmart stores. As noted above, EvilBay has them for $20 plus shipping buy-it-now if not expired.Roger

Interesting.... I actually wondered about it, but did not take time this time to look at the profile. He did have me puzzled asking how to get a $10 shirt "cheap", but also wondering how I missed the thread back in October. They are indeed cool shirts.Roger
