I must have been looking the other way; I didn't know anything was "shakin'" down under. Thanks for the info, Barb.

Lamin8tr, you all will be in my thoughts; tell the folks in the shaky zone to look sharp and stay safe.

Dont worry, you werent the only one lookin the other way..I am sure most of Christchurch was lookin the other way too. Unfortunately,an old guy fell over and injured himself in one of the quakes,,and he passed away today..They are going through the whole lot again,,water, sewerage, holes in the road, more damage...etc.It just keeps on going..

Situation is far worse than originally thought.
75 building in the CBD that survived the 2 other big
shakes undamaged are now just demo material.
The city is looking more like a bomb zone than ever before.
Many people are now so over it that they will leave ChristChurch for good.
Shame really, as it was a beautiful city full of very historic architecture.
My heart goes out to all of the residents, including the many family members I have down there.

Yeah, we've got friends and relations down there too.
They have suffered no more damage or physical injury in this last series of 'quakes; but the state of their mental health is something else again.
Many would like to get out, but it would mean abandoning any equity they have in their properties.
    To whom would they sell?
Who would want to buy a property down there?
It's pretty tough not having any security in what the future holds.

But I will tell my bro and my mates that there are people out there that they don't even know, but they're thinking of you.

    Thanks guys, most apreciated.
    And sorta humbling.
