Maverick was my all time favorite - but then anything James Garner did was great IMO. The rest of you OF's have mentioned all of the rest I would watch tho I was never a super fan of Bonanza. It just didn't ring true to me - a 50 year old guy with 'sons' in their 30s and 40s:eek:
Any of the '50-'early '70s were sure better pure entertainment then the 'realism' and splatter that they seem to need to show today. Back then when they shot the villain, he just clutched his chest and died.
Liked them all, but as a kid, I kind of had a thing for Linda Evans from the Big Valley and Linda Cristal on the High Chapperal. Both were babes. Bonanza was also a favorite, as well as Gunsmoke. I also agree with Bob, they just don't seem the same today. But those gals sure are pretty! For more recent mini series, Lonesome Dove was awesome. Can't go wrong with Robert Duval.

I always liked Gunsmoke but there were some pretty great western comedies, too. F-Troop was a riot, and Blazing Saddles. There a movie called Evil Roy Slade that was pretty darn funny, too.
Being from''A land down under'',,we got most of them,,Gunsmoke,The Rifleman,,Bonanza,etc,,dont ever recall Wanted dead or alive,,but remember the rest..I think the first western I ever saw,,was called ''Colt 45''[Christopher Colt],I think..First saw that when our neighbors got their first tv,,before we got ours,,and went next door to watch it..I always watched Gunsmoke[when allowed],and enjoyed Maverick too..Alias Smith and Jones was a hoot,,but good tired of Bonanza quite quickly...Always enjoyed Rawhide,,and that probably started off my liking for Clint Eastwood movies..Still enjoy them..And Clints movies are STILL un PC...Aint that kool..:LOL::LOL:

Although, as much as I was a fan of the Zorro series, not sure that's exactly a western.
High Chapperal for me and Bonanza.Clint movies are my favourite and I am fortunate that I have seen and met Clint here in Truckee as he is still flying his helicopter into our airport the last few summers.
I seemed that that is what we had to watch on TV and it was good. A lot of "Fanner 50's" were sold because of those shows. Do you guys remember the derringer belt buckle that shot a little plastic bullet? Don't forget Gene Barry and Bat Masterson. Those were some good old days!
