I generally will only do two car forums with an occasional stop at a couple of others. If I know something about a subject will try to give advice to the best of my abilities. I'm far from an expert, but do usually get from point A to the next in line. I try to give my answers based on that personal knowledge. If someone wants to discuss a point, I'm more then happy. If they want to argue with me about the point - good luck, I'm done. The next thing is trying to educate someone who is new and wants basic information, I'll help if at all possible. I recall a guy on another forum who wanted a camshaft because a buddy had one and the "hot cam" idle was great. I suggested that the camshaft was wrong, and that he would probably need to do other work - OMG did I get a 'dressing down' - I'm gone.

Here - thankfully 90+% of the folks have been great. Yes, there have been a couple glitches. I'm still here, they have gone elsewhere. As far as rants, yep, you can, if you look back a ways find a couple of mine. They work, they get it out of your system, they can work to make others think. I have learned that to participate for very long on internet forums, you do need a thicker skin - which reminds me, I need to go roast a guy on another dedicated site ..........
