Well deserved for sure. The other 2 roadsters look deserving as well. Looks like fun.
I should have had more kids.........we could then have our own car show! Don, your camera really takes some nice pictures, but I bet you will need it serviced after that Hooters shot. :p I just know Uncle Bob has already saved and enlarged that one.
Steve L, thanks for posting that on the forum for us. Much appreciated.
Don
How kool is that..All the hardware tells the story, doesnt it..Now im really green with envy,,three open cars in the family...thats really awesome,guys..Congrats,Dan..you have earned it,looking at the finished article..
how about a three way burnout photo?, they all are beautiful
With Pops there that Hooter's "girl" doesn't surprise me one bit!!! Where's the pic of him takin' her home?
Well that's one for Bob's files.......... Those are three sweet roadsters. It doesn't surprise me that he took trophies on his first outing. Well deserved. That is one of the nicest RPU's I've seen. It's understated and bitch-en at the same time.......... For that matter so is your's and your dad's. All three very cool..............:D:D:D. One grin for each of you........
Pretty bad when your own Son turns on you!:LOL:
Dan has been racking up some more miles on his car. Last night we took it for a little drive to go out an eat dinner. We had a little running issue a couple of days ago, thought it was vapor lock but found the coil had fried.....oil was seeping out of it. Would run for a while but when it heated up it would quit. Threw on a spare coil we had in the shop and problem went away. New one is on it's way from Summit and we are mounting it in a cooler spot on the front of the engine.
Dan also is not nuts about how loud the car is, especially inside the car with the top up. He is going to work on the baffles some more tonight and modify them with more diffuser rings. There are just some new car teething problems that we needed to sort through, every car has them when you first get them on the road. We were able to get the timing set correctly last night and it dropped the temp from 190-200 down to 170 at idle.
But the major items are fine. The car goes right down the road, no goofy handling issues from the 16 inch bias plies, and the rest of the car does what it is supposed to do. We're pretty surprised at that because we usually have some suspension tuning to do to get them right.
Every night Dan has been coming home from work and saying "Let's take my car for a little spin!" Thanks everyone for the nice words.
Don
Holy smokes "Best in show" and "Best truck" that's awesome! Way to go Dan!
Boy it's a sign of bad times, when the hooter's hunnies look like the walmart greeters!
Nice to see the three of you out and about in your hotrods!
Bob, thanks for pointing that out. I just tossed my beer glass into the garbage can, and here I thought it was my eyesight going the whole time ! In defense of that "Hooters Chick" she is quite famous. She was the very first one ever, back when they were catering to the Stage Coach crowd. :p
Steve, yeah, isn't that cool about him getting those two awards? :) I was really praying he would get something (I bet God has gotten some strange prayers, but never one for a trophy !) but when they announced Best of Show he and I were beside ourselves. I've seen his attitude come up 100% since last Saturday, there were so many down times in the last 4 + years and especially the last 40 days, trying to get this thing done. Poor Dan had times he thought it would never end.
