    Thumbs down Tiger Woods

While watching the Masters these last few days, I've become insulted by Tiger Woods and I hope the Augusta officials have been paying attention to his antics. Years ago when Woods was playing well, we all loved the guy. He could hit a golf ball a million miles and pulled off the best shots anyone has ever seen. After the Fuzzy Zoeller mess, he backed off and realized that if your going to be a celebrity, you are going to have to be likable too. From then on, he had big mo behind him and the crowd boosted his agressivness and it seemed that all of golfdom was changed forever. Of course his ego got bigger than his paychecks but that's OK as long as he kept himself under control and he did. He worked with kids and spent money on charities and scholorships. He was loved and respected by almost everyone. Things were going great until his private life was exposed. Today he's a much different man. The debacle with his wife has obviously taken a toll on him and greatly affected his play. I personally don't care about what he does with his time away from the sport. That's his business but his actions of late have me rooting for him to miss putts and hit it out of bounds. Yesterday, he missed a long putt that hung on the lip and didn't drop....he stood and looked at it for a few seconds and then with the camera in his face he mouthed the "F" word. There was no mistaking it and the scene was run again later on. This jerk has been repremanded for his (disrespectful) spitting and as a result, has stopped that repulsive habit. Now I'd like Augusta to step in and stop him from acting like a home boy and conduct himself like a professional. I haven't seen anyone else loosing control but because he's Tiger, we have to put up with it. Years ago, Gary McCord used the term bikini wax to describe the speeed of the greens at the Masters he went on to say that some of the areas behind the greens still had body bags left over from the guys that never got out of trouble for hitting bad shots. The Master's people told CBS that they were appaled by McCord's references to the hallowed grounds of Augusta and if they wanted to keep their contract with them, McCord had to go....he has not been back. My point is this: we want golf to continue as a respectable sport, there are kids watching not to mention respectable men and women. Suck it up Tiger, there is a time to act like a mature adult and be an inspiration to the youth of America. Save your spitting and dirty mouth for your night life. I'd really love to see Augusta repremand this jerk and kick is sorry ass off the course.
FWIW, I'm not immune to bad language, I worked construction all of my life and used the very words that Tiger is using only not in front of women and kids.

He's a jerk ........ always has been, always will be ........... hasn't won a tournament in two years but still proclaims that he's the best golfer in the world and deserves the number one ranking ............ I have no use for the spoiled brat

    Never like him!
IMHO watching Golf on TV is similar to watching concrete set up.

Golf---a game where you prop a little ball up on a stick and everybody shuts up and gets very quite while you swing one of a dozen or more clubs (that cost as much as a hot rod) at the little defenceless ball----

oh yeh, in addition you get to wear cute pants, spiked shoes, but only one glove!!!!

For me Tiger is a lot like Charlie Sheen, and I don't really see why we give either one enough attention to warrant mentioning them at all. Both have mede fools of themselves many times over. I don't even like the attention they get in the "entertainment" shows, much less here...

I couldn't agree more, Roger, and the same goes for those sluts like Britney, Paris and Lindsay.

HOWEVER, I also think that if "october - 1881" wishes to voice his dislike for Tiger or anyone else and keeps it within the rules of the Forum then he should go ahead and let'er rip.

I sure hope that he doesn't think that we are aiming any of these negative comments towards him.

Plain and simple, there just ain't many "duffers" here on this Forum.

I agree 100% Meller. October-1981, nothing negative meant towards you in any way. I also agree with Hoss, Tiger was good for the game, but I'm afraid his "goodness" is gone, and not sure he can do much to bring it back at this point.

Yeah, bud, gotta agree there..Us southerners could set up grass tracks/grasskhanas on all golf courses,,much more fun...And caddy Steve Williams could spend more time on the track too...
