any way i am hoping to have the first coat on the homestead tomorrow afternoon, is that the time whoops 138 am thursday, i mean today ready to finish off tomorrow Friday morning, then i will be looking forward to loading up the van and heading back home to civilisation and my own bug less snake less home, hopefully my best mate.............Dodge my cattle dog remembers who i am, then i am going to be spending a week out in my shed working on my car, i need to get it finished and back on the road as i am having withdrawal symptoms and need a hot rod fix.

guilty as charged, when i was a kid of about 7, we used to play ten pin bowling down the hallway with toilet rolls as the pins, and kittens as the balls you would think at 7 years old we would have had more sense, no kittens were ever harmed in our games and we used to think it was funny watching them try to dig there claws in as they spun out of control down the hallway trying to stop.
I would probably give my own son a stern talking to if i ever caught him doing it today, and if my father had ever caught me doing it back then i would hate to think what would of happened .

Very warm looking, more my taste.

I really like the way wood responds. When we did the remodel of our current house I laid down a wood floor of reclaimed, old growth, tight grain fir. Resawn from timbers that had been barrel racks in a whiskey distillery. Did a similar satin finish to what you show here though the fur comes up a bit redder.

Did a deck in Ipe with a satin finish that looked great when we first put it down, but hasn't weathered as well. I end up redoing it about every other year or so. Looks spectacular when freshly done though.

Bob we have an ipe deck too. Seems to take stain better after a few years wear and tear. Great stuff. There are better stains every year that seem to penetrate deeper, and last longer, it just is very tight grained and has a lot of natural resins too, but what a great deck wood, yours looks very nice.

Well i finished the last bit of work on the homestead sat morning and was happy to be driving back home by 10 am arrived back at my house around 2.30 pm and had a great nights sleep back in my own bed.

the job turned out OK so i am happy with that. these pics are after the first cost, and before all the filling was done, i never got any with the final coats as i was too busy thinking about getting home lol
