I hate the traffic on the way to work.
Sometimes the cat just sits there and I have to walk around him.

Tech, I totally agree with you about walking and not using my truck or my wifes car. Unfortuntely I live 12 miles from the nearest Gas station and 13 miles from the nearest grocery store so that scenario doesn't work for me and others who have the same problem. I have a gas hog of a 2006 Dodge Dakota that gets 14 miles in the city and I'm on a fixed income with taxes and bills up my butt to pay or I would trade this truck for another, but I'm not going to buy a 4 banger because I use my truck sometimes to haul 2 or 3 times a week.. I have no one to blame but myself for buying this vehicle but never expected gas prices to rise again.Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

I know what you mean Chevy. I just bought a 2011 P.U. that gets anywhere from 14-16 around here, maybe 19+or- if the planets are aligned just right when I'm out on a longer run. I too haul a trailer frequently so I need the towing power. Sometimes pulling the trailer with the old truck it was like the tail wagging the dog, and that truck didn't do any better mileage wise. I average about 20-25 gallons a week doing shop stuff. If prices get too far out of wack it might pay to buy a super duper mileage vehicle to drive for those trips where I don't need the towing power. But then I'd be maintaining an extra vehicle so I'd have to *put a pencil to that deal first.
*put a pencil ~ Term used by old farts, pre-calculator/computer days when a pencil was used to do math problems.Last edited by pro70z28; 03-06-2011 at 07:21 AM.

I bought this a few years ago and haven't ridden it but a few times. I contemplated on selling it but, glad I didn't as it WILL be my summer transportation! "Oh" it's a 2008 "MADASS" (yep that's what they are called...) that gets 100+ mpg! I recently added a big bore kit and header which really woke it up!
