Prayin' for the best outcome Whip man.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.

Whip,
My and my wife's prayers go out to you and your family and that your X will be found alive and well. Same goes to all the rest of you Kiwis, hope all Persons and Rods are well. Keep us posted.
Having been born and raised in Ca., Eureka and the Bay Area, I am no stranger to quakes and experienced moderate one here in the Puget Sound some years ago. You never get used to them.
Keep safe,
Jack.www.clubhotrod.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44081

Thanks, everyone,,even though we are in the North Island,,I had a restless night last night,,its a major disaster down there. Its just so unbelievable, that some are dead, and some, just a few metres away survive..Rescuers are checking the remains of flattened cars,to see if they were occupied at the time, and I just heard a story, where a woman walked out of one building to have a cigarette, and the quake hit,and the building collapsed behind her..
We have some good friends down there, and so far they all appear to be ok..Our prayers go out to all those down there, and we hope there is not too much loss of life, although the 32 confirmed is too much..Micah 6:8
If we aren't supposed to have midnight snacks,,,WHY is there a light in the refrigerator???

Prayers are out for all the NZ'ers. The pictures are incredible. Sent an e-mail out to friends who are vacationing in that area. They replied that they left 22 hrs. before the quake. Visited the Cathedral and was staying 3 blocks away. They said they were feeling lucky and also sad for all the people that are suffering.Don D

Very sad news with so many deaths and casualties.NZ is having a tough time with the mining disaster and now this.Have friends in ChCh and thankfully they are safe.Looks like many are still not accounted for so there must be many families having a very hard time.

Its not good down there,Roger..I think theres 65 confirmed dead, still about 300 missing, and now, rescue attempts are hampered by the possibility that one of the buildings they are trying to get into may collapse completely..There is a 6.30pm curfew in the city now, which started 30 minutes ago..There are the odd looters out there too..hope they get caught and jailed..Micah 6:8

I just have been reading some of the accounts on some of the on-line news sources and this one is not good. It kind of hits home when some of your friends, even tho never we've met in person, are involved in a natural disaster. My best wishes and even a prayer go out to you.Dave W
I am now gone from this forum for now - finally have pulled the plug
