MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY

Our last gas grill died a slow death in the elements. I know they make covers, but my wife would most likely forget to put the cover on or would put it on when it was still HOT. I'm probably as guilty. So, I decided I'd build a hood off the gazebo but then thought that would just be a head knocker and probably wouldn't do much good 3' above the grill. So this afternoon I came up with this set up. I just sandwiched a couple 1" aluminum angle pieces between the grill & the side trays. Cut a piece of .080 sign scrap, put a bead around the back side to keep the rain from dripping inside the grill & folded the edges over on the pan break. I bolted it down to the angle with 4 stainless #6 button head allen bolts. It's still easy to get at the controls and they should stay a little drier now. Just got it assembled and am doing a test fire. Works good. Now to see if Cheryl will notice before tomorrow. I doubt she will since she will get home after dark.
