I know what you mean though, Hotrodpaint.
I have a project I have been working on for years and I am still not finished with because of health issues. I am just looking for some fun time when I am feeling good
enough to take a ride. Though I have a super sharp 07 Mustang GT thats all decked out
its a five speed and just kills my bad knees to get in and out plus all the shifting.
It's only got 7,000 miles on it now, but the wife drives it once in a while to help keep it running. Kurt

my next door neighbor has a goldwing, another friend has one....
the Capt I'm working with right now has a goldwing with 100k miles on it.
He recently hit a deer at 50mph around a corner and walked away from it. He actually drove the bike the 400miles home.

All three of these people (especially the last one) are fanatics.
These are really excellent pieces of machinery.

Just the same, buy used.... the type of person that owns a Goldwing is not the type that doesn't maintain or treats the bike like crap, etc etc.
Also, I don't know if this helps.... but the guy that hit the deer, the Insurance company sent him over $8k to repair the bike, and the damage was all cosmetic, so the value is noted by more than just the Dealerships :-)
