Prospects aren't good over time without some serious changes in perspective.
As the Fed and Political decisions hurt the value of the dollar the price of crude goes up. Fortunately, lately anyway, the Europeans debt has hurt the Euro at the same time so we look better by comparison than the metrics say we should.
The continuing Federal ban on Gulf drilling, the reluctance to issue permits even in the areas where they claim to have lifted the ban, and some States doing likewise will eventually come back to bite us when economic conditions improve (as they inevitably will, just how much is the question) and demand increases.
The rest of the world is upping their game economically and are competitors for all commodity resources. If you want to play you gotta pay, especially when you don't develope your own resources. The Chinese have spent much of the last decade going around the world making deals for future oil reserve discovery and production. They have the long view and are preparing to fuel their future growth. Unlike some who whine about phony environmental situations and waste resources on turning food into fuel. When such foolishness catches up the usual scape goats will be blamed and the real causes forgotten or ignored.
As State budgets strain under results of irresponsible decisions of the past few decades, fuel taxes will rise because they are easy to hide if timed "correctly".
The list is much longer but virtually nobody cares what the real reasons are...Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.

I check in everyday and some are better than others. I don't think Brent has anything to do with the forum anymore, but I'm not sure. Hopefully as time moves on the forum will get better.
Where is everybody?
