I am a long time member of AARP but will not renew my membership. They were big time advocates of the Health Care plan and as a resule of it lost a lot of members. I didn't cancel for one reason only...it wasn't worth the trouble. They have denied me AARP health insurance and now are after me for Medicare supplement and auto policies. Bottom line is I don't like them but get a discount for hotels. AAA also offers discounts on lodging but they are $55.00/yr. I don't see a benefit to being members of either group. AARP doesn't represent me and as far as AAA, I can get more information off the net when it comes to travel planning and towing is covered with my auto insurer. BTW, when checking into a hotel, I'm asked if I have AAA or AARP and when I say yes, very, very few ask for my card.

Don't toss their stuff in the trash can, put it into their "postage paid" envelope, and mail it back to them. They enjoy getting mail too!

Won't have any truck with them; don't like their politics, the way they try to tell me how to live my life, or anything else they stand for - I do not believe they are for the "old folks", just their own profit.

10-4 it was well known that Mr. Art Linkletter despised them and everything they stood for.

I have home & auto with AAA (added discounts) I get my health thru the V.A. my income has been limited as of late so the other discounts I really don't use anyway, the motel discounts and travel planning were handy when we took a trip back to Tennessee a couple of years ago.
