Very cool, Charlie. I think you should post a nice, long, smoky burnout video!
Do you think it can do that  :LOL:
Thats one nice job Charlie...I`ll be sure not to run in your territory....:HMMM:
Well I figured I donne my last two cars satin black, so I bought two packs of paper today 1 600 the other 800 W&D. this one will be silver met. on top with gloss black on bottom with red pinstrip to set them off. I'l follow the body line for the brake. This after I just finished hanging all the trim..well it went on easy. Nothing like doing it twice.
Liking the idea of the color scheme, would be an Anniversary Nova. Glad to see this thread I have been trying to figure out what the avatar was. That's going to be tits.
Well here I go I was going to put the belt line trim back on the car. I looked at it and it just would not look right with the two tone paint. Soo I'm cutting off the pins and welding up the holes. Will it ever end summer is coming. I want to drive this thing
Nope, it never ends Charlie!!! When you've got the Nova all buttoned up there'll just be another one that follows you home and needs attention!!!!!
Oh boy I can't wait
hell Charlie it.s been in the 40s all week and roads are dry here them bbc love cold air let it rip
If I had plates and ins I'd be out there 40s + here all week and they just took out the rain for Sat & Sun. I may just play a little anyway. :HMMM:
Well the top half is painted
KEWL! It's gonna be two tone?
yep black on bottom/ red pinstrip
Is the top a dark grey, almost charcoal then Charlie??? Looks like some blue in it maybe?
My eyes are so bad anymore, need to check the color by braille, I guess!!!!:LOL::LOL:
dark gray metalic. was going to put a little blue pearl in it but decided not to...
Looks awesome, Charlie!! Did you paint it where she sits or do you have a paint booth?
Single Stage paint?
Looks kool,Charlie..The black is gunna make it look different...in a good way..:cool:
Thanks guys .yes single stage. yes painted it right there. Got a couple spots that aren't quit right but have to wait to fix'em. It amazing what jumps out when you put paint on it.
That's why you get the big bucks Charlie.................
ROFLMAO!! Big bucks??? This is my car it Cost big bucks I don't get any for this one hahaha. I was just out in the shop I started to sand in a spot I didn't like and wondered why it was so cold out there...When I left the shop last night I never turnrd the heat back on...I'll sand tomorrow.
Sanded the car again with 600 and thats the last coat. next week the Black.
Coming along nicely.
Coming out nice Charlie! Single stage is still a good product!
Nice and shiny.. Good an slippery..Should be good for another 5mph on the highway,Charlie..:D Less drag..:D
Nice Charlie! You make it look easy!
Looks good. Getting them shiny in the spring means a great summer ahead!
finished priming and sanding the bottom, may go out later and finish taping it.
I have to say I have not done body work on a hoist before but it sure makes it easy to find scratches then sand them out.
Looking good. When is spray day?
.
If it isn't Friday it will be Monday
Right on.
Looking forward to the pics.
.
dispite feeling like crap I had to do somthing so heres what I did
Lookin' good!! You're pushing me towards spraying mine myself, Charlie!!
If you have never done it before I suggest you go to the junk yard ,Or like me behind the shop get a door or hood to pratice on...It realy isnt that hard..and if you don't try you'll never know
Looks good Charlie! Going to be fun to get the Nova on the street and hear the comments on the tailights and other mods!!!
I did the chassis on the '33 - did what my paint guy calls "sugar coat" which is a couple of coats of single stage, then a final coat of single stage mixed 50/50 with clear. Gives the easier application of the single stage, plus on that last coat the pigment settles to the bottom, letting the clear add depth. That's the plan for the body, too, unless I opt for having it sprayed. Naaaaah, I'll do it myself!! Can't stand to say, "Oh, that was done by so & so's shop." I much prefer, "Yeah, I did it myself so if you see flaws keep them to yourself!!"
