Hay you got your own Big Block..... Don't think I could afford that $6.00+ gas for an 8 hr drive.
i know what you mean charlie. but it sure would be fun to go out hunting ricers together.
Took it for a ride down the driveway( my drive is a quarter mile ) today. This thing should not be on the street.(WELL!!!!) it will be.hahaha
Awesome Charlie it certainly has that killer a ricer sound to it. Should be a handful when you hit the loud pedal :confused:and keeping it going straight. Don't know what I did here.
Took the Nova out for a short ride**) today and gave it a bath:eek:. This thing has more b--ls than any SBC I've ever built it is flat out scarry to drive. but fun at the same time.:D:D
Scary fun is a good thing Charlie!!!!! Gives you more energy that a whole handful of vitamins!!!!!! Looks good put together, good to see it on the street--almost!!!!
Not a lot farther but it is getting there. Been working in Chris's 57 got front seat and have to modify the mounting. Think I'll go with just lap belts lots easier. Maybe I should post progress on the 57 hahaha
Not wanting to leave this Nova stock any where hears the latest. Since it was rusted bad I figured I couldn't hurt it. Still more rust to remove but at least its started.:)
busy day finished right side rolled pan is next.
Tailights should leave them scratching their heads!!! Nice work, Charlie!
Yeah,good job,Charlie..they should have been a stock fitting..they suit..
Those tail lights seem to work real good in that car.
Nice.
Thanks guys started the pan and ran out of .035 wire for my welder...I'll get back at it Monday
Very cool on the taillights, Charlie! Big blocks are so cool; you're making want to build another one.
Alittle more to do at the corners then grind and grind. but its getting there
Great look on the back of the car, Charlie!!!! I've never seen any car that doesn't look better with rolled pans! Great addition to one of GM's plain Jane designs!!!!!!
Ya know Charlie when I saw the first pictuers of the taillights I was kind of , but seeing them all ruffed in they really work well.
i like it ...it all works well together
I like it, too. I'm anxious to see it with the deck lid on it.
Me too but the hatch back is in need of RUST removal that may take a while.
well finished grinding. got two coats of filler on sanded and put a coat of paint on to see where it needs to be filled more or less.......AND to see what it will look like :):)
I like the lights, Charlie!!! Now wait till some clown sez that it looks like you bolted on some different tailights, and his buddy with him sez he saw a Nova last week with the same lights!!!!!:rolleyes::LOL::LOL::LOL:
Love it,,Dave, you hit that on the head...guarantee that will happen....
Charlie, that does look good..Will look quite mean when its done..
I like the lights.
They suit that car perfectly.
I guess that's why my buddy put them on his car.
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:**)**):lol:**):lol:
Well thats the rear. Now I think a bath :eek:and sand it all down then another bath:eek: and apply Black :3dSMILE:Oh I still need to finish the hatch back @#%(&^%# thats going to take a few days ...Then were done:)
Sure do like the new look on the back, Charlie!!!! Might as well ad one of them Pro Mod wings on the hatch while you're working on it!!!!!:cool::rolleyes:
That thought has past my mind but maybe a 67/8/9 camaro spolier
Yeah, that'd work!!! Heck, why be subtle, put one of the monster Pro Mod wingie thingie's on there!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well got some of the hatchback done may finish tomorrow. The top of the lid had way to many bends for me to duplicate so I cut out the rusted area treated what was left and put in a full peace. I don't think it will make a bit of differance. Using lead to fill seals before seam sealer
Charlie, that tail light mod turned out perfectly. That's one of those treatments that will have folks saying something like "why didn't I think of that?" That's when you know you nailed it! I agree with your idea for the Camaro spoiler, will take some tweaking for the part that overhangs the quarters, but will be worth it.
Just about back together. That hatch is almost to much to handle by your self.
I mentioned I was thinking about a spoiler for the deck lid....Well I bought one, removed it from the box and laid it on the bed cover of my truck ...It was late so I just closed up and went in....This AM, was mens breakfast at 7 AM I opened the shop pulled out my truck and left...a couple hours later I'm looking for the spoiler can't find it anywhere and getting real upset with myself. I then remembered I left it on the back of the truck. I never turned on the lights in the shop to get the truck out. Well I spent well over an hour looking for it..I figured it would have fallen off in my driveway no such luck... so now I'm looking to buy another one. I think I'm getting dumber all the time.
The Nova is looking like one mean machine fish!!! Love seein the updates on how far you've gotten on this car. something about a Nova when theyre set up right they just look like they'll scare the bondo and plastic off a ricer at a stop light hehe. The bolt on lights look great i think i saw those on a local Nova the other day (@ dave ;)
They do look like they were made for the car in all seriousness. great job welding up those panels and getting such a great fit! keep the pics coming
The hatch looks good Charlie--anything that heavy I like to replace with 'glass!!!!!!:LOL::LOL:
As for the lost spoiler, lost a pair of glasses the same way....Gettin' old ain't for sissies!!!!
" L O L " Guess not
All one color, spoiler on, lights work, need to add choke, and line lock. Have to do alignment, before it goes on road.
Well done, Charlie!!!!! The car has a really great look to it, especially from the back. Going to have a lot of folks wondering just what it is they're following! Thinking the front suspension is going to drop a bit after a few miles of bouncing around on the streets??? Great stance, too!! Reminds me of the days when a lot of us had a "Saturday Night Special" hidden away in the garage that only came out at night when the money was right!!!!!
