you know i have never owned a timing lite .. i time by ear .. i bring up the timing till i hear engine ping when accelerating then back off till it quits .... for racing pruposes when max compression and race gas is used then dead on timing would be bennificial .... but then maybe that`s why i never won a race 30 years ago when i did such silly things ..

got the timing right. it was still having problems. the neighbor that helped me suggested that i pull all the plugs and check compresion. when we pulled all the plugs he noticed that the #7 plug smelled really strong like gas. he told me to bump it over. gas shot out of the plug hole. my carb shoke was stuck wide open. he fixed that then reset the timing once again. put all the plugs back in and made sure all the wires were in the right order. she fired right up. WOO HOO. scared the daylights out of my girlfriend as my headers are not hooked up to the exhaust. shut her back off as i do not have water from the radiator running to the engine. small hole in my radiator. what is the best product for fixing that?

Great Barb, should be moving under it's own power before too long.

Alumiseal (SP) works sometimes (provided the hole isn't too big) and doesn't seem to plug up the cooling systems.

Of course it's usually not too hard to just pull the radiator and repair the hole. All it takes is some acid core solder, flux and a hand held propane torch.....ready to lean another new skill?????
I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....
