I love different swaps like this one , Barb. Caddy's are just such good engines, especially from that era. Keep us posted on how it's going.

vara you are making me blush. henry i brought the adapter kit and put a chevy th400 to the engine. my rear is a 10 bolt out of a 71 chevelle with 273 gear so it should not over rev the 472. it has the stock torque converter.BARB

my wife came out to the shop once at midnight trying to coax me into the house.
so I look over, and she's there naked and says something like "What do you want me to do?"
I asked her to hand me a 9/16th and I needed some light so to bring the flashlight too.

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
