I hate to have an opinion, because whatever you say about brands will cause somebody here to tell you that you are wrong. The most important thing to remember is that you need to choose one, and if it works for you, stick to it. Each brand works differently, and you don't want to try to go through a new learning curve, figuring out how to make it work, on every job. Also you will need to see what brands are available to you locally.

I will just say that in the last 40+ years I have used multiple lines of PPG and Dupont, and many other brands. Today I use R-M. They are one of the oldest manufacturers on the U.S., having provided Cadillac with their paint in the twenties. I have used it for about 15 years, and it is the most reliable, and least problematic of all the paints I have encountered. I combine that with Xotic or HOK custom colors daily, with zero problems.

I recently used PPG Concept, because the owner had already bought it. A had a couple runs in the clear, and when I tried to sand them out, and buff, they kept coming back. I talked to some guys who use it, and they told me "no problem, just let it dry for a couple months, and it will stop shrinking!" WTF??? I won't use it again. BTW, the R-M is stable and workable in 1-2 days, but is still soft enough that it won't work you to death!
