What are you doing this Memorial Day weekend?

I figured I'd put this out there to see what everyone was up to? I spent time working on the truck bed body work, and smoked some ribs that I used Rendevous Dry rub on, and did a tritip yesterday. Today friends are comig over(whoops just got here!

Put up Old Glory, celebrating today with a cook out. Ran out of propane half way through had to finish in house. Oh well the kid's and dogs (no grand children) are here .

Thoughts about friends passed and thanking our military that are providing all this. Sad that only 3 homes in our subdivision displayed the flag.

Mowed the grass - - - called and emailed a few Veterans to thank them and fixed "blackened Tilapia" for dinner - - - I was definitely born on the wrong side of the Sabine River !

Fired up a new 383 sbc I got from Jegs (by Patriot performance) had oil leaking from 5 places. Worsed was at the timming cover/oil pan junction. I could slip a .002 fealer gauge through the gap. Spent the rest of the day fixing the mess.

I went to the cemetery and put a dozen red roses on my grandfathers grave site. He died in a VA hospital a few years ago from the effects of his 8 tours in the Vietnam war years! He is still a proud American Marine. I am very proud of my grampa and all his buddies all over the world. Happy Memorial Day to all the vets on this website, I love you all.

Last night my Son Don, his GF Taylor, and I took our T's to a little car show in town. Dan spent more time working on his RPU, building the door sills and mounting the door handle.

Today I plan on doing some much needed cleaning of the shop. (Exciting life, huh?) We also fired up Dans engine for the first time in a year. He was relieved to see it still runs fine, so all that is left is body work, pretty much.

Went too Springfield NSRA mid America Street Rod Nationals to see the show and pickup my Roadster body. While there went too Billy Gail's (possibly the best breakfast on this planet). Now setting on my couch and thinking about the whole trip and how much fun we had in Spingfield Mo. Tons of cars at the show , and the cruise was out of this world. Did not get to see NTFDAY or RSPEARS but maybe someday.

Went to our lake vacation home with our kids, grandkids and dogs as is our family tradition and raised old glory on the flag pole! It rained so constant and hard that for the first time in 20 years we didn't get the boat out!

God Bless our current troops as well as those that went before...
